Has anyone received this recall also ? What is the fix for this ?

Mar 25,2022
Manufacturer Recall Number22S21
NHTSA Recall Number22V191
Recall StatusRecall Incomplete
SummaryON YOUR VEHICLE, IT MAY BE POSSIBLE YOUR ENGINES RIGHT-HAND OIL SEPARATOR WAS DAMAGED PRIOR TO BEING INSTALLED.

Safety RiskA DAMAGED RIGHT-HAND ENGINE OIL SEPARATOR MAY LEAK OIL. IF AN OIL LEAK OCCURS, YOU MAY SMELL OR SEE OIL SMOKE EMANATING FROM THE UNDER-HOOD AREA OR OBSERVE OIL LEAKS ON OR UNDER THE ENGINE. IN SOME CASES, IF SUFFICIENT OIL ACCUMULATES AND MIGRATES TO AN IGNITION SOURCE, AN UNDER-HOOD FIRE MAY OCCUR INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY.

Wondering if this is the culprit???
If so, stating right-hand might imply there is also a left-hand separator?
Outward appearance doesn't show a catch-can waste valve or removable collector. I'm curious if this is the Ford version of a catch-can.

Well that's cool. I wasn't notified but I do see it was added to Ford Pass on 3/25. I don't have smoke billowing out and I'm not leaking oil, so I'm going to guess I'm good here.
Thanks for posting.

This recall only affects the 1.5L engine and not the 2.0L that is in the Badlands and the First Edition.

Yup. I got that one. I also still have the Front Break pad replacement recall, I talked to the dealership earlier this year and said the parts were back ordered till the summer or something.
Hi there! Could you please send us a private message with your VIN and dealership information? I would like to look into these backordered recall part concerns for you on my end. Thanks!

No, it's not (directly) related to a catch can; an oil separator is a normal part of many of these modern engines, my VW one similar to this right on top of the engine. It condenses the oil and sends it back to the crankcase, while the air and remaining vapors go back to the intake. The can catches oil plus a lot of water often, and you routinely empty that yourself (and do what with it?).

Oh thank you. I went back to the dealership yesterday for the new recall and I guess they had a misunderstanding last time. So I have my vehicle scheduled for an inspection for both recalls now next Tuesday.

Are all BS with the 1.5l 3cyl included in this recall? Because I haven't gotten it as far as I know. I was just on FordPass this morning.

instead of the catch can, can ford replace the brakes that whine like a tug boat when you reverse… or maybe for the entire vehicle vibrating at 1500 RPM due to that shift cable or whatever that my car isn’t included in…
