For those who have a new 2025, what are your thoughts on functionality compared to Sync 3? Bigger screen obviously is an improvement.

Are the HVAC controls on the main screen an issue for you and are they easier to use?

Likes & dislikes if any.

I test drove a ā€˜25 Sasquatch Saturday.. very nice.. the only nit is to get to the recirc button it’s a 2-button press. Could get used to that.

Off topic but was the suspension ride quality different?

In the Sasquatch over my ā€˜22 Badlands yes and for the better. Ride was firm as expected and handled the road well however it was a short test drive. Tank wasn’t filled only 28 miles to empty which the dealer shouldn’t let it get that low. That’s the reason for the short drive.

Don't really know where I'm going with my next ride.

2025 BL, no Sas. because of the cost and don't need any extra capability. Maybe.

Possibly other model SUV's, less offroad capable. Serious off roading not a necessity anymore.

GMC Terrain AT4 ?

Equinox Activ?

VW Tiguan R Line?

Mazda CX-50?

We'll see down the road later this year or early 2026.

Dude, I test drove twice and tank was on fumes! smh. I hope that when I pick up my new 2025 BS OBX Sasquatch on Thursday that the tank is full. My trade in is going to have 3/4 tank.

When we picked up our Bronco Sport, it was on about 1/4th of a tank but they had me drive down the road just a ways and they paid to fill it up for me! ?

Tami, they were probably hoping you wouldn't say anything. We drop $40k and they can't fill the tank?

Having the HVAC controls on the SYNC4 screen does not bother me. I’m a set it and forget it person…set the temp and let the system figure everything else out. The large screen allows for better split screen resolution with more than one app.

I have been trying to figure out how to get what station is actually playing on the second screen, not just the "for you" suggestion thing. What the heck setting old man me missing?

Swipe the second part of the screen to the right. It should show you the station information. That’s how it works on my Android Auto.

When you connect a phone to run CarPlay or Android Auto you are now running two different operating systems using the same screen.

You can only view a single operating system at a time. AM/FM and SiriusXM are running on SYNC 4. All your phone apps that appear on the screen are running on CarPlay or Android Auto.

You need to toggle back and forth. With CarPlay you tap on Apple CarPlay icon to toggle to CarPlay. To toggle back to SYNC tap on the Ford logo icon.

I can't speak to the others, but I did test drive an Equinox Activ and found the transmission to be extremely lacking and could not imagine driving it on a regular basis (slow to respond to accelerator, odd shift points, low power) - even the passenger could tell that it was an odd drive.

I got a 25 Badlands, which I run on Eco almost 100% of the time and it's great in comparison, with great power and shift points.

I like the Sync 4 (never had sync 3). It is better than any other car screen I have used in any rental or borrowed car. Though I mostly use android auto. I can certainly see room for improvement in the native software, but it's pretty good as far as car systems go.

I don't have any issues with the climate control - other than that I cannot tell when some of the features are active. I am color blind and I cannot for the life of me tell if the "light" that indicates the feature is active or not is on or off (For instance, I cannot tell if the heated steering wheel "light" is on or off unless I get a few inches from the screen and squint since the "light" is like 1 pixel larger when "on" - obviously not something safe to do when driving!).

You can adjust the temperature in multiple ways: Tap on up or down, drag the slider, or even use the voice recognition (though the voice recognition can only act on a very limited list of predetermined phrases). And the "auto" fan mode works very well - there are 3 levels for auto mode, and it is even smart enough to wait until the engine is up to temp so it doesn't blast you with -20 outside air when you first start the vehicle trying in vain warm the car to the setpoint.
