What's the ratio of Badlands to all other trims ?

I’m in a city of about 50k, there are a couple baddies like myself here but most BBs.

when driving around with my friends and we see a non Badlands I usually make some sort of derogatory remark (in good fun lol)

Yup.. I'm aware of both the limitation on towing and tongue weight. I had attached a Curt class III hitch to my BL , but of course the hitch is only as capable as the weakest link... so I believe the specs state a 200lb tongue weight limit (?)

With that in mind I purchased a smallish rear cargo basket to carry the occasional camping water container and perhaps some firewood, etc... I also make it work as my truck bed since I no longer have a truck.... but it works of me.. I just have to dutifully chop up any trash into smaller manageable pieces and make a few extra trips...thankfully I have a neighborhood trash site a few blocks away, so no biggie.

Hey I noticed your lettering is black? Did you have the white letters removed and installed yourself or did you get the dealer to do the same?

Yes it is with extra stuff to make it a first edition. Badlands plus I guess you can say .

No, I just taped and used plastic dip paint…. Matte finish. Not perfect but helped with the look I was going for

I have purchased both the black overlay (not decal) and OEM letters. The white letters are the first thing I am changing.

Here on S.E. PA I saw maybe 2 or 3 Badlands in the 1st 2 years out, it was all lower trims
Then I got mine & wow did it change...
2 people in my neighborhood got theirs cause they liked mine so much.
Then they started popping up like on the way to work. Admittedly bout half i see on my way to work come from N.J. but still, I think a full bakers dozen I see regularly within 20 miles at last count. Lol.

Seldom see other BS Badlands, typically if I see a Sport its an Outer Banks or a Big Bend.
I see more full size Broncos and even Cybertrucks than Bronco Sports no matter the trim level, also quite a few Mavericks running around as well.

The Ford Dealership where i got mine plus the other Ford Dealership they own have 2 Bad Lands out of like 44 New Bronco Sports the others were BB or OB BS.Each Dealership had one Bad Lands.

Well its January 2025 as I follow up on this old thread and while many more BS have shown up here and there... the mythical Badlands Trim is still a few and far in-between site!

I've also noticed local dealerships knocking off a couple thousand on their lots of BB and OuterBanks... There a few BL in the lots but for those speced out like mine with all the upgrades there still pricey at $45k even after knocking off that $2k to get rid of the 24's.

With the new Sasquatch edition coming out in 2025... I'll admit my interest was/is peaked to be sure... I figure my lil-ole 22 BL's is Sasquatchy enough! hahaha

Is it just me or does it look like only 1 out of 10 Bronco Sports are Badlands trim? I literally stumbled onto a car lot and parked right next to the Badlands I ended up with here... and yes, purchased back last April when mark ups were all the rage, ugh. Admittedly I caved into a $3k mark up, but hell my 11 year old Ram was literally on its last legs so got some of that mark up back on that trade in ... lol

I would highly doubt it is even that high. from what I see on the lots it would be closer to 1 in 100. I see 1 in 10 being an outer banks (90% are big bend) and then I have only seen one badland in over 100Bronco sports on the dealers lots. and I have only seen two driving around.

From watching Long MacArthur's weekly live streams, where the hosts cover unscheduled numbers and build restrictions on each trim, which can vary month to month or even week to week, Ford builds about 15 % Bronco Sport Badlands trim. I can't reference any particular one of live streams with that number.
The downside to owning a Badlands...dealers may not see them very often and just put 5W20 in every Bronco Sport that they service. I had oil analyses done (2 different companies) and the viscosity was measured as 5W20 instead of in the 5W30 range. Even with normal shearing reducing the viscosity, the measured viscosity was outside the range of 5W30.
Both companies said it wasn't necessary to get an immediate oil change, but to change to the correct 5W30 at the next normal service interval.

My neighborhood dealership seems to be OB happy. They have 5 compared to 2 BL, 2 Heritage, and 1 lonely BB Black Diamond.
