So today... after looking at expensive A$$ roof top tents and even small tear drop trailers... I opted to pinch a few pennies and added this small, universal and very affordable awning. I had looked at several fixed awning and even those 270/degree batwings and while they all look cool... the price and the eventual shade coverage they tried to provide was lacking.

After "jerry-rigging" my own attempts with poles and guidelines with mixed results...I came across this Kelty shade awning on Amazon (where else...lol) for $109.... Its re-enforced in the right places and with the added support of fiberglass poles looks like it will hold up to those unexpected winds that seem to always strike right after I've setup camp....

Couldn't resist posting this... yes 4runners are cool and all... but never underestimate your Baby Bronco... especially at the gas pump : )

I have a friend who rides a 4runner and gives me "crap" at every turn... but showed him these pics...ha!

I made an internal promise that if I got a build date for my Badlands before I came back to AZ, I'd order one dream accessory of my choice.

I ordered a full set of "Bronco" white LED illuminated letters for the front facade. Gonna try my hand at grille removal and wiring all six letters to my running lights once my Badlands arrives. They're going to be sitting in the garage for a few months, but I'm super excited. I haven't seen these white ones on a Sport yet and have only seen one person install the amber LED letters. Hoping to be very unique with mine. For those curious, the website photos only show them on the full-size Bronco, but our lettering is the exact same size.

Cactus Gray is beautiful! I've got a friend with a Ranger in that color and she adores it.

I actually made a detailed thread regarding my install. You can find that here. Not the easiest things to install but the payoff was worth it.

Thank you for the link on that. you really have done a wonderful job on your BS and I love the color. My wife and I do love the Cactus Gray but not crazy about the black top especially here in Arizona. Lol.

Had an afternoon open today and it wasn’t too hot so I had a chance to wash the BS today. Washed, applied Turtle Wax Graphene Flex Wax, and then applied Meguiars 3 in 1 wax to the black trim to try and remove water spots I’ve had since delivery. It took a couple coats but I’ve removed almost all of them from the sides. I have to work on the roof some more. One coat didn’t do too much.

The graphene spray wax did bring the plastic bumpers back to life quite a bit. I should have taken some before pics but I didn’t. My car lives outside so it takes a lot of sun abuse.

What orange paint did you use for the tow hooks? Looks great!

I used this Montana spray paint. A guy posted about it in one of the BS Facebook groups. It looks great. It’s super close to an exact match. You can’t tell the difference between the Badlands badge and the tow hooks.

What did I do today? NOTHING. The temperature/humidity index to day was 109 degrees in NC. My wife and I did some early morning gardening and then sat on our butts all day in air condition comfort and caught up on our reading.?

Since I spent the last three days driving home, today I unloaded the rest of my stuff. Then I emptied out the trash and recyclables. Took the baby for a bath and a fill up. No, I didn’t take pictures. I’m older and all that wore me out.
