Wise advice
will be putting on the to do list
voltmeter test battery pole to pole
expect 13 plus
volt meter test pos + pole to ground stud
hope for the same read 13+
These conversation boxes from separate turn signals and brakes to a single turn signal/ brake seem to be real touchy as far as longevity. I’d put a reminder in your calendar to check the ground. I’ve used these a lot over the years and that has always ended up as the fault for failure.

Those Gatorback splash guards are very nice but man are they expensive!
They are, but they look and work super great. I was on the fence about them but the dealer cut me a sweet deal for all 4 on the condition that I did the install. Wasn't too hard and I'd rather install my own stuff anyhow. Came in hand a few times when I'd get a bit dug in on sand. They just flex up and out of the way. No snapping or body damage. Also they don't help dig in. But I agree, they are pricy as a fashion accessory.

agreed
the composition of the flap material is integral with performance
as you've pointed out
rigid is fine for protection
however
needs to work with varying conditions
flapjacks or mudflaps they need to flap

Ford Bronco Sport What did you do TO your Bronco Sport today? 20220904_102607

Removed my Gatorback mud flaps from my Big Bend to be installed onto my Badlands. Pretty nasty process, lots of gunk caught between the flaps and the felt liners. Excited to give them a thorough scrubbing.

Also discovered the dealership kept the little plastic pins which hold in the felt liners when they installed my flaps. Now they're not super secure, but I'm sure if they notice, those plastic pins are something the dealer has on hand to replace. Doubt they'll even see it when inspecting on trade-in day.

You can pick the push pins up on Amazon pretty cheap I think. I have some as well but might be quicker to get them from Amazon.

Just found them, but I genuinely don't think the dealership will even notice. Just took a drive and the liners didn't move at all. I'll just let it ride since I'll only be driving it for another week or two, and only here in town.

wiring in curt trailer harness
directions call for drill and self tap ground screw
really dislike overhead drilling
even with safety goggles
caught steel in the eye twice
so we look for options
spot the 10mm screw holding muffler
might do the job
decided to ground at the driver side rear light
stud and nut looked like steel
went for it
advantage: shielded from elements
seems like all trailer lighting fails for me have been ground related
power cord videos say underneath route
I'll do an exploratory roof liner run to "A" pillar

follow up to yesterdays post
checked stud used for grounding harness controller
Battery 12.59 volts
Battery through voltmeter to grounding stud 12.59 volts âś…
ran controller positive wire internally
through lamp housing (empty existing plug) to cargo area
up rear hatch post
across ceiling liner using conduit fish tape
down "A" pillar to fuse box

If anyone has a recommended fuse spot I'm all ears
https://fuse-box.info/ford/ford-bronco-sport-2021-fuses
so far the (spare) no.15 no.16 slot seems okay????

Mileage and noise are two areas with not enough discussion, IMHO. We'd all like tires that have better traction and are more capable ... but at what cost? For those with frequent off-road needs it is likely worth it. For the rest of us, what is the best compromise? I want something that will work in rain and light snow conditions, not get me stuck in mud while still being fairly quiet with minimum impact to mileage. Up until recently, I had been eyeing Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015s as a future replacement. Right now I am liking what I read about Continental CrossContact LX25s. Seems like a more measured approach but still an upgrade from stock.
Installed Ford-Alexa on our 2022 BS BB and works awesome!

Yet another successful venture out with the Sport...You can't tell by looking at this shoreline, but I had to navigate loose small boulders and yes took a few strikes against the underarmor, lol.

Besides the Badlands included rock plates and my addition of the lighter Rally Innovations front skid plate... I'm hoping someone will create a side plate for those lines running underneath the driver side. Right now its a thin piece of felt covering those hoses... but hoping someone can manufacture a long plate for that section... I believe its the fuel lines.

But all In all a successful venture trough narrow roads and loose loose boulders and rock.. performed like a champ.

Baby Bronco Power at it's best : )
