Need to bring mine in for it's 3rd failing water pump (33,000 miles) and I woke up this morning to my A/C not working at all in this Texas summer. Checked coolant level, freon level and hooked up my scanner to make sure it was registering me turning it on. Checked the fuse as well clutch is not engaging. Imagine the compressor took a crap.

At this point I'm growing more and more disappointed. Anyone else have a/c issues? Most of the ones I see are refrigerant leaks, but my levels were perfect.

Lots of lemons with these cars. Pretty unbelievable on FORD’s part. Can’t wait to get rid of ours didn’t know it was going to be the time bomb that it is.

Only a handful of annoying ticks it has, along with the 4 or 5 recalls, and a water pump replaced at around 23k miles. But looking around the forum it’s clear these cars are time bombs

What percentage of the fleet do you think those posting problems here represent? People are far more apt to post online--looking for help, or just to vent--when they have problems than when they do not.

40K miles on '21 BSBL. Only glitch was recent overheat indication (from normal 4 bars to max red instantly). pulled off road, turned off AC, left running and returned to normal in about 2 minutes. Drove rest of way home with no other trouble. (was going up grapevine grade, heavy traffic at 70mph, AC on and 112 degrees outside) I think a glitch in this super sized rolling PC!

yeah true, just never heard of a recall on brake pads. I was under the impression these 1.5l dragons have been used in the UK with success for years on other vehicles, now they come to the states and have injectors that can leak and cause fires. and FORD's only fix so far is to add a drain tube? lol POS

Here's what the article says about the Bronco Sport:

“It’s very rare to find a model recalled for every issue imaginable, such as automatic transmission modules, fuel injection system, sunroofs or missing bolts in the suspension,” said Evaldas Zabitis, automotive expert at carVertical. “The Ford Bronco Sport was even recalled due to poorly manufactured tires, which speaks volumes about the car’s overall quality and what you can expect when the warranty runs out.”

Maintenance costs will add up quickly for the Bronco Sport.
First, I don't remember and recalls for the transmission or suspension bolts. That aside, there's no question the Bronco Sport has more than its fair share of recalls. But this article's theme is that the Bronco Sport will cost more to own than other cars in its class. Recalls don't cost owners, they cost the manufacturer. Are they a hassle? Sure. But we were discussing maintenance problems, not design & manufacturing problems. The last sentence in the quote above is pure speculation based solely on the number of recalls. I would argue that complying with a recall DECREASES you chance of future maintenance problems.

That’s true. And there can be a few outliers with recalls like Recall 24S24 (BCM/PCM Calibration) which on the surface seems to be causing more issues but we don’t know how many issues are prevented by 24S24.

I took the article with a grain of salt because of two of the articles statements for recalls on the transmission & suspension bolts - unless the 8F35 transmission has recalls in other Ford models, I did not see any yet for Bronco Sport although I do have concerns about the 8F35 specifications in the 2.0L engine configuration. Regarding the suspension bolts, I remember there were some issues in the early days of manufacturing but the affected number was tiny (don’t know if this was a recall however).
