I agree. Not sure why they did the split. A focused effort would make better competition. Custom hood decal coming next week. Should look good. It is Sarge Green. We will see how well the engine performs over time since they did not go with a turbo version. Cant wait to see what 2023 brings for the BS!
Nice color choice! Heh I was half wondering now that I’ve waited this long for my 22, they’ll probably add stuff for 23 that I want lol.

I mean I know Ford fields 2 entries in the segment with the BS & Escape both (not to mention the Corsair). But they seem differentiated enough to me to understand their respective missions. I had a really tough time armchair shopping the Cherokee/compass to know which one might be the right alternative to look at.

I'm the guy who peppered him with BS questions during the Q&A. I think he may be a little off on 360+ being that much of a constraint since my dealership has 6 lot lizards coming with it and I got scheduled in 2 weeks with it. For those with multiple constraint items I fear that the system looks for all items available in order to schedule, so it may be a different item every week preventing scheduling. Every item takes its turn knee capping a build in a continual rotation. I'm really glad there was nothing in the premium package I couldn't live without.
I might have to watch again now. Near the end he went over a long list of allocations coming his way. He mentioned some 3 digit codes next to some of the Badlands.

I put $500 down to reserve two allocations on two Bronco Sports at two Ford dealers.
According to the VVR's,
  • First one (Outer Banks) has been sitting in KC awaiting a truck since Feb 28 ("Delay Convoy Carrier").
  • Second one (Badlands) was on "Ramp 54" in Mexico Feb 23 ("Origin Received").
I am going nuts.

I haven't received the email yet, but my dealer did give me my VIN and build week. We both have the 360+ and no other packages, so that's probably why were were able to order so recently and get scheduled quickly.

Long McArthur said this week they are out of BL Premium package, Assist+, and Moonroofs. He mentioned there was a queue of customer orders without any of those options being scheduled.
I called Ford yesterday and they said no product constraints related to my order and that my dealer would have to tell me if there was an issue. Messaged dealer and they said nothing was holding it up. I am beyond frustrated with this process, as I have all of those things and its not worth it to me to wait a year for a car. I am already looking into other vehicles.

You are probably right! I just hope we don't get stuck in the re-schedule/Shipping Fog a lot of buyers have found themselves in. Well I hop you get yours as soon as possible and I will keep updating!

Have a Great Friday!

Do you know what your priority codes were? I order a few weeks before OB and Assist+ and nothing. I called Ford yesterday too and it was just in the queue - no constraints. Not completely frustrated yet - just curious if that priority code does make a difference.

To an extent, yes. Think of scheduling like a sports league draft. Each dealer’s lowest priority gets scheduled in “round 1.” Then the next lowest in “round 2” and so on. Allocation numbers then dictate how many “rounds” for the dealer and for the scheduling week being performed.
Theres other factors and that’s simplified, but that’s the gist of scheduling.

I also believe (though without supporting evidence) that a lot of decisions are made at the regional/zone level on how the allocations are doled out. Supply constraints are forcing not just the draft of allocation (the old system) but also for the priority scheduling and incremental allotment of COVP to be significantly less beneficial than it would be in normal times. Decisions have to be made on who gets what, and there's simply no way that will make everyone happy.

With all the movement figured I'd try Ford Customer Service again this morning. Got a VIN and a Build date, hung up happy. Plugged the VIN in - it's not for my build, it's a Bronco (not Sport) ordered 1/19. Yes, have Order Number, Dealer Code. Called Ford back, dealer has 2 vehicles against order number? My Sport is still stuck in Order Processing, been there since 12/13. Then I hear the magic words that has been alluded to in various posts - Dealer Allocation, your dealer is a small one. So there ya go, dealer allocation IS a factor, like chips and other package/component shortages. So yeah, I'll let you guys know what the 2023? 2024? Bronco Sport is like.....

I was advised the tow package was part of our delay…but I’d rather have it from the factory for sway control etc…
hm...has anybody removed their tow package order and got scheduled sooner? I don't plan to tow anything.

And now there’s a light at the end of the waiting room tunnel! Sales dude just phoned. Build date of 3rd week of May, just waiting on him to send me the VIN. Here’s hoping it works out to be the great vehicle I know it should be. Ordered 11/6, so even getting to this point has been a few months in times of chip shortages & everything else.

But I ordered BL, tow, 360+, PP, cargo, really everything but the moonroof. So I shouldn’t be the least bit surprised that any one single constraint would hold up my build. But here’s tho the car I plan on having a decade or more so we shall see.
Hey congrats, you have the patience of a Saint btw
