I have a pretty good pile of items in the garage awaiting a BS that will arrive eventually.
I ponied up the money and bought the LED Lettering last month. Think I could convince my dealership to install them as part of vehicle prep before I pick it up? Or will they usually not install any accessories until the deal is done? I figure they might be willing to install beforehand since I signed the build sheet and gave them a grand already.

My guess is that they will not install it because they would be taking responsibility for it working. That is pretty much how all mechanics work.

There is potential for those things to add time to the build but those are also usually dealer installed options. If it were me, I would order them separate and just drop them in when it arrives.
You don't get that email, the dealership does. It's how Ford tells the dealership you're a real person placing a real order instead of a fake order a dealership is making to get stock. If the dealership doesn't submit it or if something is screwed up on it, you will not get scheduled.

Sorry to hear your Escape has been so poor. I’d wondered if an Escape wouldn’t have been a good choice for me, but the Sport was just such a cool vehicle. What did you experience on yours?
Just like it’s either software issues or something. My auto up works intermittently and I’ve taken it in 2 times to have them reprogrammed and they still do it. My driver’s side window makes a rubbing noise going down. They found a broken piece in the door which must’ve happened at the factory because I’m very careful with my cars, but it still does it. My gas door I have to play with to get it shut. They replaced it once and they’re replacing it again Monday with another one because the new one does it too. There’s a slight squeaking noise coming from either under the hood, my suspension, or my wheels. There’s also a flapping sound coming from the left rear side of the car that I know what it is and they do too, but they’re not doing anything about it because there’s no official fix from Ford. The trim piece that’s around the window controls on the driver’s side iscoming off. Lastly, what really did it for me was my emergency brake came on all by itself at the drive thru I was at. I don’t know if it was a one time fluke or if it’ll do it again, hopefully if it does it won’t be when I’m driving.

I tried to initiate a buy back with everything that’s been happening, but my state’s lemon laws aren’t the best so Ford said no.

I hear you on the getting nervous now that we're about a month out. Especially the price and interest protection. I'm using my Dad's A/Z plan, so i dont think they'll give me a hard time on the price protection because theyre not making anything on it anyways. It's the interest that makes me nervous. I haven't yet purchased anything for my sport, but the center console organizer is on my list and still debating if I want to buy the Ford floor mats or off brand. I'm also thinking about the bug deflector and window rain covers, especially being in washington state.

The Ford floor mats are super pretty. I hear Weathertecs have better coverage (See the uneven lip to the right of the pedals exposing some carpet), but I think you'd really like these. I'm gonna ask my dealer if they'll order me the ones for rubber floors for free if I throw my current ones in with my trade in. Window deflectors are also probably a good idea. I've gotten dripped on a lot - More than other vehicles I've driven.

I'm excited that you and I are the same build week. We can compare our experiences as we go along and track our builds together. Theoretically, mine should be here in AZ before yours makes it to WA, so I'll keep you posted if anything is missing or damaged so you can carefully inspect yours. We'll forever be build week buddies!

Does adding accessories like floor mats, cargo mat and splash guards add to the time it takes to build? Wondering if i should leave those items off and buy myself?
Don't add anything that can be added later ...

Agreed. However you should balance that with any discount that may be applied. Such as X-Plan, or low interest financing. Also some options include dealer installation when ordered with the vehicle, typically things like fender flares, spoilers and hood scoop. If you buy those after delivery you'd have to either pay the dealer to install or DIY.

I would love to hear how you got interest protection. I haven’t found any lenders, including FMC, who will guarantee interest out longer than 30 days. When I ordered on 3/7 I had a guaranteed interest rate of 0.9 (for 30 days) now that same lender is at 3.9, equal with current FMC for 72 months.

I'm not certain, but I'm pretty sure it has to do with my A/Z plan that I'm able to use. I could very well be wrong, but I specifically remember the dealer telling me that I was also locked into the interest at the time of my order which he thought was around 3%.

That might be it, I only have an X plan. Grateful for the small chunk it saved me, though.
