Ugh, I ordered yesterday and aside from the Carbonized Roof, I have the exact same order. I see that you are still waiting for a VIN. Not boading well for me as MY23 production isn't even supposed to start until November...
I ordered just 10 days before he did, and I do have a production date. The process makes no sense and Ford doesn't seem to have any sort of patterns or organization as to how orders get scheduled. Keep your head up, try not to think about it during your day to day. It'll happen and be a lovely surprise that way.

Don’t let my experience taint your enthusiasm for placing an order. I will say that your order is not at a great time of year, though if you look at my example neither was March. You have ordered after they stopped taking orders for MY ā€˜22. So, you know for sure that the earliest yours will be built is in November. I wouldn’t expect for it to happen that soon though. Not that it couldn’t happen but I would rather be pleasantly surprised that it happened, rather than expect it then and be disappointed.

The thing is that pretty much no matter what vehicle you order right now, it’s going to be at least a 4 month wait. Some are much longer but the shortest is about 4 months. If you really want the BS, then I would think that the potential of 6-8 months isn’t that much more. Maybe there is some other vehicle you would be just as happy with and is within your means?
Totally. Prepared to not have it until Feb or March next year at this point. I wasn’t willing to wait until next November 2023 for a full size Bronco though (and even that was probably optimistic). Working with Granger and getting the 6% under invoice made moving to the BS feel not only like a better financial move but also a more practical one. For me the BS Badlands will do 90% of what I would want to do off road and actually fit in my garage.

New member here! I ordered mine on 5/12, but then I got scared reading the horror stories of people waiting 6+ months for their BS orders, so I jumped the gun and got an Escape. Now I’m back to waiting on my order since this Escape of mine has been a quality nightmare. I’m praying the BS doesn’t have issues like this Escape does since it’s built at the same plant that the Fusion was built at since that’s what I had previously and it was a very good car. Overall though, I’m excited now that I’m back to getting my order and I have dates.

Sorry to hear your Escape has been so poor. I’d wondered if an Escape wouldn’t have been a good choice for me, but the Sport was just such a cool vehicle. What did you experience on yours?

Did you ever get any answers? Have you seen the COVP email? Will you be one of the very, very few Sports to get rolled over to '23?

Does adding accessories like floor mats, cargo mat and splash guards add to the time it takes to build? Wondering if i should leave those items off and buy myself?

I texted my salesperson but didn’t get an answer. I did not get a COVP email and don’t know what that is. I think the last scheduling round was for the first half of September, so there should be time to get scheduled before mid October when the MY ends.

There is potential for those things to add time to the build but those are also usually dealer installed options. If it were me, I would order them separate and just drop them in when it arrives.

I'm now within a month of my build week and the jitters have started to come back. I keep thinking of all the "what if" scenarios - Everything from my Sport being banished to lot rot to my dealership telling me I'm not price protected and having to fight them on the day of pickup (or not giving me March's interest rates and incentives, screwing me over on my originally quoted trade in value, etc.). The jitters stopped between being scheduled last month and now but things are feeling real lately. I've waited 5 months and can do one more, but man, this car is something I'm dreaming about at night. So ready for it to be here in my garage.

Another month to be built and then with the Arizona destination you’re probably only a week or two from delivery at the dealer. Good luck and I hope you love the second BS even more than the first.

Man, you're too kind. My nervousness is small potatoes compared to how you must be feeling. I like the first BS, but it was only ever intended to be a placeholder. It's pretty bare bones since I wanted a Badlands with Premium and Tow to begin with. The one being built feels like it's truly mine and for some reason, it feels like my first time actually buying one. I'm stockpiling accessories, feeling these jitters, drooling at the stock images of my build. I'm far more excited about this purchase than I was the Big Bend.

I have a pretty good pile of items in the garage awaiting a BS that will arrive eventually.

I ponied up the money and bought the LED Lettering last month. Think I could convince my dealership to install them as part of vehicle prep before I pick it up? Or will they usually not install any accessories until the deal is done? I figure they might be willing to install beforehand since I signed the build sheet and gave them a grand already.

My guess is that they will not install it because they would be taking responsibility for it working. That is pretty much how all mechanics work.

You don't get that email, the dealership does. It's how Ford tells the dealership you're a real person placing a real order instead of a fake order a dealership is making to get stock. If the dealership doesn't submit it or if something is screwed up on it, you will not get scheduled.
