My badlands came without it. I told the dealer add to missing list. Haven't heard back yet. I will ask in a couple days if nothing heard.

Maybe they learned how to make invisible ones? ;)

Now I want somebody to 3D print one out of clear plastic (though I’m sure it wouldn’t look quite right). Just so there’s such a thing as a transparent engine cover.

That would be soooo cool. Someone needs to start producing clear ones. Or how about color coordinated with your paint color? Where is the creativity? :)

How crazy do you want to get? If you make the cover clear you can see everything under it. If you colorize the cover then you'll have to color coordinate all the other shtuff too. Here's a dude with a Mustang that got the bug:

If you have an engine cover and the build date is past the date they removed the engine cover. That would be enough Ford needs.
That makes sense , but it's ridiculous for a dealer to even believe a bit of factory bling would void the warranty . I would look for another dealer .

Yes I'm adding to this thread..... Since day one a couple months ago I noticed the cover missing. The dealership agreed that the engine looks messy without it so I had them order the parts using my Ford points and had them install it. If there was a problem from Ford we would have heard at that time. I was the first one out of the shoot for this dealership and took them about 20 minutes to figure it out since the instructions from Ford was confusing. Dealership says now when you pop the hood it looks complete maybe only for looks.......

When I trade in my bs or sell it I’m keeping that cover.
It’s going on my wall.
Garage art ya know,
Yah yah nya nya yah, I have one and you don’t ~~~~~~~
,
And I’ve recently opened two hoods on my dealers lot.
They both had engine covers.
So,
I bet the majority of those who have NOT an engine cover are the special order people.
Ford figures they got them hooked anyway cover or not..

Actually any item installed after you purchase a vehicle could void the warranty. If they can prove that the item installed was the cause of malfunction of a covered item.

Engine cover not very likely, but say you accidentally cross threaded the screw, it gradually backs itself out. Any damage as a result of or even future items, there goes the warranty.

My wasn’t special order and didn’t come with one. There was a date in July after that date they stopped coming with covers

Roger that. But the two hoods I opened and saw engine covers arrived the first week in December.
That means they may have been sitting in the Mexican desert since before July waiting on some other part.
That seems more likely ya think?
I’ve seen pictures of no cover I’ve been wanting to see one up close so I’ll pop a few more hoods.
