I said it before, and I'll say it again- When the dealer took my order, (and my deposit), all Bronco Sports were shipping with engine covers. All of the pictures of the engine had engine covers, all of the Bronco Sports on dealers lots had engine covers. I didn't get a rebate for the "MISSING" engine cover. I did not get what was advertised, (and paid for), and you say it wasn't missing??? Good grief! This isn't hard to understand.
Is that engine cover on the build list? Like specifically called out on the build list. I am willing to bet you will find fine print on one of your contracts on the order that parts maybe different then when ordered. That is very standard language of pre-order contracts, at least in my field of work.

  • Mazdas we’re just as reliable and long lived as Ford, motors, chassis, body and all. Not fall apart buckets like the dodge neon.
Dodge knowingly repurposed a crappy car chassis and engine for the PT cruiser.
It was a cheap move that persuaded customers into buying a new cool looking body. At least when Ford shared parts with Jeep that was back when Jeep’s were Jeep’s.
IMO there is a big diff in sharing proven reliable parts parts and purchasing fiat and Porsche motors because a company can no longer develope and produce a reliable EPA compliant efficient engine.
,
I do remember the Ford Escort.
It was a charmer that many hated but it was all Ford if I remember correctly. The Escort was one sorry vehicle but it was cheap and often managed to get passed 100,000 miles before it detonated.
FWIW I was raised in a Chevy and Mopar family.
I had three Cuda’s, three Duster’s, three Camaro’s
My dad had several Impala’s
Two El’camino’s, a fairlane.
I did not name them all.
As far as I’m concerned the only American car companies are Ford and GM. Dodge still makes pick up trucks that feel American made but that’s about it.
Everything else looks like everything else. Jeep’s still look like Jeep’s:,P
Chrysler has always (since Iacocca) taken crappy bits and made crappy cars from them. There is nothing new there. Think the K-car and all the derivative cars. Every one of them was a piece of junk and death trap.
Jeep using Fiat products? That makes sense. Fiat owns Chrysler. Chrysler and Dodge are interchangeable. Chrysler owns Jeep. Prior to that, Daimler owned them and gave up on the company as they couldn’t get their quality up.
At that time, there was a lot of Mercedes in Chrysler and that helped the brand significantly.
Except for the Wrangler, Jeep isn’t really Jeep anymore. In some ways that is a good thing, and for people who still want old school Jeeps, there is the Wrangler.

To my knowledge, Subaru never bought Porsche engines. They use the same piston alignment and that is it.

As a total aside, I miss my 1983 Subaru wagon and it’s gutless engine, and diff locked 4wd system. Lockers at both ends was amazing. Center was locked as well.

Order to delivery: 221 days, or 7 months and 9 days, or 31 weeks and 4 days, or 60.55% of 2021. My patience paid off! Loving our BS OB!
But more importantly after waiting 221 days, or 7 months and 9 days or 31 weeks and 4 days, or 60.55% of 2021....Did you get a engine cover?!

Subaru and Porsche both use a “boxer”design engine. Both make their own.

We should set up a fund and all chip in to buy an engine cover and mail it to @Kodiakbear !
#gofundmeanenginecoverfor@Kodiakbear $5 Donation waiting to be sent... Totally worth the laughter I have enjoyed at the expense of others wronged by Ford ???

The not-so-funny thing about that, is it is getting worse by the day. They now have over 100 cargo ships waiting to be unloading in just one port in cali.
