Fun, there’s gotta be a way to turn that off…
I disabled it on the Mustang, but unfortunately it was tied in with the active noise cancellation. Disabling ESE also disabled ANC. I liked having a quiet ride in the Mustang, so I turned ESE back on. After a time you don't even really notice it.

Sometimes being hard of hearing is a blessing. I'll never understand the obsession with loud noises. I think I lost much of my hearing at a Steppenwolf concert back in 1969. Sitting in front of 8' tall speakers. It was painful.

I did have a motorcycle with straight pipes once. People can't see bikes, but they could hear that one coming.

In the winter on short drives, I use sport mode. It warms up the engine a bit faster.

I tried Sport Mode for the first time today. In addition to the enhanced throttle response and more pronounced engine noise, the instrument gauges took on a orange hue and added a turbo boost gauge and a voltmeter to the central display, in addition to the standard temp and fuel gauges. The BS held gears longer and used engine braking on long downhill runs.

A very fun experience, and a mode I could see myself using quite a lot. I’ve had Gonk a week now and am loving every minute behind the wheel.

Sport mode on the Badlands will get your attention.
If you mash the gas pedal and the wheels are not quite pointing straight you can find trouble quickly, also If the road surface has any irregularities that can catch your tires, that's where the wheels will go.
