I was a bit surprised to see they were 8-9lbs heavier than the 3's. Fortunately, I called the retailer I would use and they can still get the 3's. I think I will go that route...
I love my 3's . Hopefully I can find a reasonable replacement when the time comes.

You can still buy the 3s at least in some areas (check the tires date code before installing)
Fortunately or unfortunately, it's no where near time. Only 15K miles.

If You are going to get a discontinued tire, you may want to get 5 and start a 5 tire rotation because what are you going to do if you get a non-repairable flat!

You should seriously consider the Toyo Open Country AT3, if weight is an issue. A 245/65/17 is 34-35lbs for an XL load rated tire, depending on if you want raised white letters or not! Look at tire tests and reviews on Tire Rack's site.

Was planning to replace the spare anyway because it has aged in the high summer temps here

I have the hitch package with full sized spare and the 235 65R17 Falken fits as a spare

Plenty of us are running 245/70/17 on factory wheels without rubbing and no lift. I haven’t experienced any rub at all on pavement.

that’s a really good point I had not considered and I have been in that spot before. Just changed my mind - the 4’s it is! 😎

The Toyo's have mixed reviews, from what I see? The weight isn't a major concern, I guess. Just surprised to see the increase on the Falken 3's to the 4's....

Was minding my business and reading up on spacers but alas…

So glad to see it’s not just me - it seems these Falken AT4’s are hijacking threads all over 😂 damn them and their extra weight!!
