But we only listen to about 8 stations.
I’m a few more than you, but still a small fraction of what’s available on there. Still I always find it such an awesome service to have. Sadly here though the traffic part of it isn’t included so I”d have to add that one separately.

oh wow now I remember actually buying one of these things from a shop in town that imported them before we could officially get them here. What a revelation it was when town had one bad AM station at the time (This was pre smartphones & streaming of course…). You needed a US address though to sign up. I always wonder how many renewal notices got sent to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave… :D.

When my father passed away and I tried to cancel his subscription for the Lexus, they offered me an in-house receiver which I declined but they don’t like to loose any customers even when they pass away!

Depends on the station. I can drive 18 hours and may hear a few songs repeated on some stations and here another several time over on others. Same with disc jockeys, some station have them others not.
I didn't intend to talk about the music service but in my subjective opinion the playlists on their main channels are really, really shallow. Probably not too much worse than your average FM station. But I also really, really hate the "bonus" show content like Billy Idol hosts or the Tom Morello show that repeats 15 times a week... on multiple channels! Arrrgh!

Anyways, if you want a more objective look at what they play, this site tracks it:

https://xmplaylist.com/station/1stwave

Just change URL to the station in question.

https://xmplaylist.com/station/ozzysboneyard

The most interesting part on there is the "most heard" button that also shows when a song is played. Some of them get played 5 times a day.

I think Sirius, like most all stations, play what is the most popular with the general public -- not necessarily my "favorites". If you really want control you have to "roll your own". Every album I have is on USB stick (with room to add more) left in the slot so when the BS starts I'm pretty much ready to go (I also listen to XM a lot when I'm too lazy to search for a particular album/artist/song).

Well, the “most heard list” just made me feel completely out of touch! Lots of covers of songs I knew but no originals and no artists I listen too on purpose.

It's most played for each channel so you just don't listen to what they play on Turbo.

Why deal with those idiots when you can listen to Amazon music for less, and listen to what you want when you want, rewind, pause, replay, search for specific songs, podcasts, news....

Or YouTube Music, or Pandora, or Spotify, or just download your music collection to your phone or a USB stick.

The only advantage to SiriusXM is that you get access to hosted shows like Howard Stern. That's fine if you can live with the commercials.

SiriusXM has huge advantages! At least for me because it’s free free free. I do have Apple Music, Amazon Music, etc.

Howard looks more more like the Crypt Keeper everyday. I don’t listen to channels with commercials, talk shows, sports or news channels.

So my non-premium subscription at 5.99 a months works for me.

I tried SiriusXM a few. years ago in my Accord. The sound quality was better than FM (non-digital) but worse than streaming. I don't understand the appeal.

I never listened to it in my BS. I'm assuming the trial for me is over now since it's been 90 days. I never officially activated anything. I'm curious about that Travelink. That could come in handy if I'm out of service somewhere.

If you have not contacted SiriusXM to delete your SiriusXM service and if you purchased the Ford Navigation option then you might still have Travelink because Ford provides 5 years of Travelink service with the Ford Navigation option. To use Travelink make sure you do not have Android Auto or CarPlay running then select the Apps button to the left of the Navigation button on the 8” Display screen.

If you believe you should have Travelink because you have Ford Navigation then see Post #8.
