Why would this stubby antenna have worse reception than the whale tail design I had on my '17 MKC and '19 Edge? I put the stubby on my '14 Escape and my wife's '20 Ecosport with no problems.
It might not be worse than your shark tail or stubby on your other car but it most likely will be worse than the stock one. In any case it won’t affect satellite reception as they are completely separate in this vehicle.

CravenSpeed makes a 4" antenna for a Ford Ranger. Not your real short 1" antenna that some have purchased and had poor AM/FM radio reception. It is shorter than stock yet I can get in my garage without hitting my garage door. This is on my newer Ford Ranger. They also make a 4" version just for the Bronco Sport. It is model CRMC-0703-784 and is $25.00 from them directly. I am going to order one for our BS BL that hopefully will be in soon. Again, a little less RF capture area, yet not really noticeable loss in reception.

Hope this helps!

I bought the 2” version on Amazon.
They also carry the 4” version.

I couldn't find the 4" version on Amazon, so I bought it directly from CravenSpeed.
How is the 2" version working for you, Eric?
Thanks!
I can’t say that I have listened to enough radio to give it a fair review.

Okay Phil, I’ve had a little time and actually listened to the radio. What i can say for sure is that the hole in radio signal that I used to experience in another car is no longer an issue. There is a spot just a couple miles from my house that is sort of between a couple of hills. It used to be an area where the radio signal would get static and nearly drop out completely. I have not heard any static for the last few days driving through that spot while listening to radio.

I don’t know how much better/worse the stock antennae would be but this 2” stubby is doing a fantastic job so far.

Glad the 2" version is working well for you, Eric. Hopefully the 4" version I have will provide excellent results as well. It has a bit more capture area and that may help too. Either way, the CravenSpeed replacement reduced height antennas seem to be a quality made antenna. Thanks again for the follow-up report :like:

My dealer did not install my screw in antennae and I do not see any reason to install it now after over a month. No issue with any radio bands or anything, everything just works. I love the lines of the vehicle without anything sticking up so I don't think I will install it at all.

How is the reception of Sirius XM without the antenna?

My dealer didn’t install the antenna for me and I had to screw it in. But I had AM and FM the signal was only slightly worse too.
Same here. Just bought a new BSOB yesterday. Was checking out the stuff in the back and found the antenna in a plastic bag. Didn't even know it had a removable antenna.

Does anyone know if we can unscrew the antenna on the back? I'm about 3 inches too tall and the antenna whacks the top of the garage every time I pull in and out. I tried unscrewing it but it seems glued on. Does anyone else have this problem? About to take the scissors out and go topless
My bs was delivered with the antenna in the front seat. Just the straight part. I just screwed it on before I got off the lot. You could do what I did to my ‘17 Escape: I ordered a universal fit shark antenna. I took it to a body shop and had it painted to match. They also installed it for me. I never noticed a reduction in signal strength, but then again, I never took any road trips either.
