So my friend from work has a 2023 broncos sport badlands, and he's new to working on cars and stuff. So he likes to check on stuff with me. He took his car to chapman ford here in phoenix earlier today and his car has just under forty thousand miles so it's like brand new still. He takes really good care of it and he took it in for an oil change and a tire rotation, which is fine but first off they charged him $130 for it, which is ridiculous. Sanderson does it for $86, and you can do it yourself for about $40 although I will say, to do an entire rotation can be a pain if you only have one jack you have to put your car up on jack stands if you don't have a lift which almost no one does.

Anyways, the picture that I pasted below is the other stuff they said that he needed to get done. It's like eight hundred dollars in bullshit, and I know he doesn't even need the filters because he just changed them about ten thousand miles ago and I just checked them a week ago.

Also eighty one dollars for cabin air filter change. Do you get a blowjob with that like ehat the hell? It literally costs more than the engine air filter by alot like these are jobs that take a couple of minutes. that just tells you how much of a rip off this place is like so many other stealerships are.

I will say my experiences with sanderson have been good And they've never tried to pull this stuff on me but I usually end up talking to the service people beforehand so they usually know that i'm not stupid and I know even a little bit about cars but even before they knew me, they never tried to do that and they've been really nice to me with some other stuff, which is why I always go back to them and it's the only dealership I ever would recommend anyone go to.

Anyways, I just wanted to post this and let you all know.Watch out for this stuff.Don't let you or your friends or family get ripped off. Most of this stuff like fuel injector service, they just pour that stupid cleaner stuff that they sell at autozone. In by the way, you don't need it.There's no maintenance to fuel injectors. And if your fuel injectors are gummed up and having problems, you will know it.Because your car will run like shit.

I can't even imagine what a brake fluid service would be unless it's just changing the fluid, which a car with under forty thousand miles.Definitely, does not need or better not need.

Anyways, it doesn't surprise me.I know they do this stuff, but it's just god. It's so greedy, and this is what's wrong with the world. All this greed ruining everything and not letting you be able to trust businesses.

Brake fluid should be changed every few years regardless of miles. It’s hygroscopic, I,e. It absorbs water.

It’s no secret that dealers pad their profits with crazy service prices. Find a good independent shop and avoid the dealer unless you need a warranty or recall fix.

So I could say that i've been fine going years and hundreds of thousand miles without changing it on multiple cars and it should be a closed system. That's very hard for moisture to get in.But I also live in phoenix, where it's not as much of an issue. but I will say that's definitely not. What I i would recommend yes, although I'd probably do more like a hundred thousand miles or five years and also I live in phoenix, where I would say it's not as much of an issue.

But we also have to remember traction control is put on all cars. Now it's getting very complicated and all traction is, is using the brakes. And there's tons of solenoids.
And all kinds of crazy stuff on our master cylinder. Now so yes, it's even more important. And I would recommend changing it, but not on a two year old car that's here in the desert. In phoenix, with thirty six thousand miles.

Brake fluid should be flushed about every 50k miles. When the fluid heats up from braking(ie: long descents) it will condense and eventually rust internal parts.
Your individual results may vary.

I have a 24 Badlands and, yes, I am having a dealer maintain it. That being said, I also just replaced my own cabin air filter. It cost 8 dollars (a brand name and considered an upgrade), but it was on sale. Normally they run $23. You can do both air filters easily yourself (watch Google videos for directions).

The Works service here in Northern Virginia usually runs $115-120. I am lucky that I have a number of dealers to choose from. Every 10K miles or every other oil change I do a fuel injection and oil treatment done for @$50

I would agree that the brake fluid should be changed every 50k or every 2 to 3 years. It does degrade. Throttle body service is a cleaning of a critical sensor. It does require disassembly and a specialty cleaner.

If the fuel injection service is just adding cleaner to the fuel tank. Again something that can be done by the owner. If it is the induction valve service to help reduce carbon build up. It needs to be done in front of the turbo (don't spray it in the turbo, period). That price is in the ballpark.

Even in Phoenix, the humidity levels are above 0%, so over time you will have water absorbed into the fluid.

The brakes are a critical safety system, so for me doing the preventative maintenance on a regular schedule is worth the expense.

If you want to extend the flush interval, at least spend $10 on a brake fluid tester and use it regularly.

Chapman was ripping me off servicing or rather NOT servicing my rdx AC here in Tucson...scam was to make me trade in for newer acura BUT I traded for a new Bronco sport instead. Lol. Love love my BS obx sasquatch ! Eruption green 🥰

Where's a good alternative for servicing other than JIm Click in Tucson...I've heard crazy prices from the ESP guy...I still didn't purchase it.

My 2021 Badlands is dealer maintained, between Ford Pass points and coupons, Ford dealer service has been fairly inexpensive. I used to service my own vehicles, maybe if I had a lift I would still do it, I'm tired of laying under cars now unless it's an emergency.
Since you know the service prices at Sanderson are more reasonable do your friend a favor and point them in that direction.

That's why the dealership service nickname is 'stealerships'.

Sanderson (in Glendale AZ) is my ride or die... but that's a good drive from Tucson.

As an owner of many Ducati, Aprilia, MV, etc superbikes, brake fluid absolutely needs to be flushed every couple years. It's not difficult to do.

I'd be interested in what you end up doing as an alternative to Jim Click. I don't trust my local chain from bad business I had with them with my Xterra. So I went to Jim Click when I got my last Xterra.

When I decided to get the 2025 BS, I went to Holmes-Tuttle. Doing dealership work may not be with them due to the drive to Tucson. Not quite sure.

Number 2 isn't a bad Price IMO and might have needed changed Number 6 no way I would have Paid that for Wiper Blades if they needed changed I would have changed them Myself although wiper blades aren't cheap Number 3,4 and 5 weren't needed with those miles IMO.

It used to be that when you bought a new car from Ford you would get 42,000 points which Ford calculated would be the average dealer charge for 2 oil changes and tire rotations. Dealers don't make much selling a car, they make it on services.
