Right rear shock replacement follow up

I had a previous post about the right rear shock leaking on my 2025 BL with 6800 miles.

Took it in Monday for my appointment. They called me mid-day Monday and told me the shock is not in stock at their San Diego warehouse.

Not encouraging. Since it is a warranty replacement, they would expedite it from Detroit via Fedex.

It did come in this morning, it was replaced and I picked it up late morning today.

I give them credit for doing all they could to find the part. Never any issue with the warranty.

Looks like another replacement part that is in short supply.

Before & after pics. I didn't pull the tire to check the new shock so the photo isn't great.

Glad it’s fixed!

…and then there’s me… covered the whole underside of the vehicle in fluid film to prolong the inevitable rusting that occurs in the Midwest.

Fluid film is an oil coating. So, my struts and shocks look like your first photo.

I’m from Iowa originally so I lived the rust belt life.
I would do whatever was necessary to save the mothership from crumbling into pieces if I was still there.

Sad that the original shock failed so early.
Good for you to get it taken care of fairly quickly.
