What is everybody reading right now? I’m reading 900 Days: The Siege of Leningrad by Harrison Salisbury.

3 Body Problem. Fascinating as it starts during China's cultural revolution. Netflix did a pretty good job on the first book; moved the settings into Great Britain to make it more relatable to western audiences, but solid.

I'm on a non-fiction/history bend lately. Right now:

The Children of Ash and Elm by Neil Price.

It is comprehensive history of the Vikings and their culture, world, and so on written by one of the foremost archaeologists and researchers of Viking-era Scandinavia.

I'm also intermittently reading 1177 BC: The Year Civilization Collapsed by Eric H. Cline. It is really interesting but not something I can pick up for casual reading due to its complexity.

Ancient cultures and societies fascinate me.

Try just about anything from Dan Carlin's Hardcore History podcast. The most recent is Twilight of the Aesir, which describes the slow collapse of pagan Viking culture as it was subsumed by Christianity.

Thanks, Mark. Will certainly check it out.

I got the bug for digging into Viking history after visiting Iceland in March. It amazes me they were able to travel such far distances in open boats through treacherous seas.

As someone who struggles with pretty heavy depressive episodes this book is an interesting look into Lincoln’s struggle with it as well.
