bought our 2023 BB in January. absolutely no problems. driven mainly highway miles. round trips to Tucson, LA, about 5 trips to Tahoe, all from SF. sits in our driveway until the next highway trip. 34mpg average. traded in our renegade for this and no regrets

It's the same with the Rival skid plate. Only takes like 4 minutes to remove, but I wouldn't trust a tech to do it right. Would definitely take it off prior to sending my big bend in for servicing. Got to remove 10 bolts and loosen two to slide out the skid plate.

altogether, took about 45 minutes of which about 15-20 minutes was fiddling with removing and reinstalling the Rival skid plate. Overall, a painless experience. Used drive up ramps to elevate the front.

Just did my oil change at 7,551 miles (initial oil change was at a dealer at 2,500). Taking off the Rival skid plate took about 8 minutes (10 bolts); removing the yellow plug and draining oil is not an issue as long as you slowly pull out the plug and hold it to control the oil flow. Installed...

Pennzoil has 3 types of 5w-20; regular, "high mileage," which is listed as a synthetic and "platinum high mileage full synthetic". I'm assuming there all about the same and bought the "high mileage" as the least expensive. Thoughts? Since I'm planning on a 5K interval, I don't think these...

yes, I paid about $19 at O'Reilly's. Unfortunately, when "pressurizing" the sealant, it sprung a leak, so the best I could do was to seal the chip; it did not flow fully into it, but it's sealed.

Survived 6,800 miles until this trip down I-5. PING. Wonder if the windshield crack resin will help seal and stop it from growing. No change driving back through 108 degree heat.

Always interested to see how the computer calculates remaining mileage in the tank; it appears to be based on the last X miles of driving. If you combine the miles driven on the tank and add the remaining miles, you can get some absurd projections; Saw 715 theoretical miles the other day...

Wish they would have designed the engine with a top access oil filter. I installed the Rival skid plate; access hole for the drain plug is in the wrong spot...I think it was designed for the first year model. So, you have to drop the skid plate to do an oil service...IMO, not too big of a deal...

2 cats is a very common design. Upstream and downstream. My 2000 Boxster had 4, lol.

Anyone in CA; make sure any aftermarket intakes or other devices are registered with CARB. I had to do an expensive replacement of an airbox on my 2000 Boxster because it wasn't listed. Mechanics would not let it pass smog without listed equipment.

Just installed the Rival 4x4 aluminum skid plate on my 2023 Big Bend with the plastic crankcase oil pan. This topic has been written about previously, but I thought I'd add my observations and photos for reference. Overall, the product is solid; they shipped it out via FedEX within 3-4 days...
