Hi Guys,

It has been a long time since I have done any work on cars (late 80s) which is one reason for the BSBL a retirement project.

I have the RI skid plate and light bar on order and wanted to make sure I could reach the bolts for the tow hooks without pulling the bumper.

I guess they are metric bolts ?? 1/2" box wrench is too big and 7/16" too small, I don't want to use an adjustable because they tend to strip things. And a ratchet doesn't have enough room.

For those that have done the install what did you use ??

Is the BSBL mostly metric or SAE ?

I may need some new tools...

Thanks

They are metric. Ratcheting wrenches are your friend.
Did you mean ratchet wrenches or a ratchet and sockets? Want to help the OP so he gets the correct tools and/or can determine if he wants to take on the project.

I used a ratchet wrench and yes it is time consuming especially trying to put the bolts (1 each side) back in while holding the bracket and trying to tighten the bolt by hand til you can get the wrench back in. Just take your time. Def worth it

Yes I used ratchet wrenches and vice grip along with an adjustable work stool to hold one side up so I could get the other side bolted in.

It's an OK PIA. I have the light bar with two pod lights. I am considering removing it as it's a PIA to clean that area due to the tight fit. FYI.

Yeah saw yours on FB which made me consider other lights than the Baja. I am really leaning towards this bar connected to a Trigger Controller for looks, growth and simplicity.

Ah ok! Great. Yeah I will definitely be upgrading to the trigger eventually when I get more lights running.

For me the Trigger had loud clicks, so I returned it. I went with the Auxbeam 6 gang and love it.
