Power “delay” or “hesitation”.

I've had this issue as well. It's always from a complete stop. I'll start to pull into an intersection and then it just pauses while shifting and I'm still trying to cross the intersection while it borderline stalls before it gets going again.

Hi there. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership name/location? I can look into things on my end.

I rather cry at the gas station than at the dealer. Premium it is.

I've noticed a hesitation after I use Reverse to back up & then switch to Drive. There is a slight hesitation for the 8-speed automatic to engage Drive. Only time I feel this hesitation. I will have to pay attention if Driving Mode is a factor. I typically am using either Economy or Normal. Wonder if the syncros are an issue?

Any conclusions on what may be causing the "power delay"? I think I have experienced a similar situation in the last week driving around (about 40 miles) a few times last week to keep the car moving since it was otherwise sitting. The BS has only 3200 miles on it. In my case the outside temperature was about 30 degrees. In each case I had come to a stop at a stop sign and after stopping stepped on the gas pedal to accelerate, instead of accelerating normally the RPM's went up to almost 3000 and the BS accelerated very sluggishly from the stop through first and second gear before RPM's dropping and BS accelerating normally. It felt like stepping on the gas while the BS was in neutral.

Right now it has happened only once each time driving so I know bringing it to the dealer at this point will probably be worthless unless the issue becomes more consistent.

This sounds like a problem with your transmission. Does it only happen with it's cold?

I have only noticed it so far in the last week with outside temperature about 30 degrees but it did not happen until the BS was driven a few miles and driven enough to for the engine to be up to operating temperature. Other than the couple of times accelerating from a stop and having the high RPM's and lack of power in the lower gears the transmission has shifted smoothly including the lower gears.

Definitely take it in. There are many factors that the powertrain control module accounts for to control shifting, and it relies on a number of sensors for the necessary data. A malfunctioning sensor, control solenoid, etc. can result in strange behavior. I must say, however, I'm surprised you didn't get any trouble codes.

Intermittent problems are the most difficult to diagnose, so don't be surprised if you get a "could not duplicate" answer.
