There is absolutely nothing wrong with anybody else being Ok with less power and better fuel efficiency.
That and for a lot of ppl it comes down to purchase price too. Lower trims cost less and get better mpg. So Ford set the trims up so the 3 cylinder is the volume seller. Helps Ford meet CAFE standards too.

spot on...so many factors and thus why Ford set multiple price points and trim options. All the measuring of the 2.0 vs the 1.5 is personal, not factual. When you start using numbers to prove me right or wrong...I know you just don't get it.

And thank the stars we live in a country that still values individuality. Imagine if there were only one choice for...anything. Some complain about having 30 different types of toothpaste to choose from. Not me. I love it that people can get exactly what they want. Choice is the epitome of freedom.

Note to self: Review packing list when traveling to Memphis.
That's no joke. Stay in the burbs. If you want to go downtown at night, Uber there. Don't park downtown.

Coming from a 130ish HP Nissan the BL is a damn dream. It almost scared me at first. Now I feel so much smug satisfaction every time I smoke a jeep from a stoplight without even trying. I'm sure the 1.5L would have been fine, but the 2.0 L is just plain awesome.

Is more because the whole undercarriage is just hanging out without skids. You can wheel the others, I wouldn’t. Then again I won’t wheel mine again since it’s a piece and constantly in the shop and Ford sucks balls
What does 'wheel' mean in this case when used as a verb?

Sorry, I'm new to off-roading lingo.

Correct. My BL in Canada has the rain sensing wipers (& whatever the wiper de-icer is), as does even the base model here. Which is awesome, but not sure why they don’t just include it for the US as well. The upper half of the nation gets just as much winter as we do.
Seattle area here, can confirm.

IMHO...
It's short for 4-wheel, as in diving off road in 4-wheel drive. But can mean other things such as diving hard.

I've done plenty of off-roading in a 2-wheel drive. You can take almost anything off-road, and for the vast majority of people, 4WD not required. But it is all relative....no question that the Badlands can go farther afield and in places you'd not want to take other BSs.
? 2WD. Wouldnt make it far here. Where I am the trails are very technical. I've turned away from plenty. But those aren't ones I would take a BL on either. It's mainly about clearance and picking the right line. I won't be climbing sand dunes or doing Wipeout hill in moab but like I said, I wouldn't be taking thoes risks in anything I didn't build.
Are lower trims capable off road, yes
Is a BL more capable off road, yes
Is my old CJ7 more capable than both put together, yes. Lol

I don't know why it's a debate. I don't spend a lot of time at the strip timing the quarter mile but the numbers don't lie. The 2.0 has more power and better performance than the 1.5
Its about what YOU want. I had to get something with good mpg and was impressed with the quickness of the 1.5
I'm grateful I had the option in this type of vehicle.

well, I should qualify that it wasn’t just any 2WD. I owned a Tomcar for a few years. These are 2WD with a large dose of magic. More than once, I had to tow 4WD vehicles back down the mountain after they broke down trying to follow me on the trail.

You can take almost anything off road and I have also.

When I was living in Alaska I found that the people who had 4WD managed to get stuck in less accessible places than people who didn't have it.

Would it be possible to get the parts for the rain sensing wipers and retro-fit them to the BL?
