I’ve never had a car without wind wings that didn’t do that. Same with front windows only.I've noticed that rolling down the road with the rear windows down, the buffeting inside the vehicle resonates and is so loud is it unbearable.
When you use the defroster, the A/C is operated. Been that way for years, due to folks not using an A/C system in winter times. It allows the oil in the compressor to circulate and keep the seals in good shape.I never had A/C in my car or home until I moved to AZ. Even had it added to my '91 Miata after the move. From late May until late October the A/C in whatever car we own at the time runs pretty much full-time unless we go to the high country. I've done summer cross-country's without it when I was (a lot) younger, and it was brutal from the mid- and southern latitudes of the US.
For those of you in much cooler climes, I agree that fresh air is more enjoyable all around, but you should absolutely run the A/C from time to time; it's not a system you want to have repaired because of dry rot, bearings in the compressor drying out, etc. Even five minutes every couple of weeks will keep it healthy.
