I have posted on other threads about surface rust on the brake calipers, that seems to only occur in wet conditions and easily wears off.
I assume you mean rust on the brake rotors in wet weather. This AFAIK is an issue with all disc brake rotors (probably drum brakes too but you can’t see it, not that anyone uses them any longer). Even if I was my car it will have rust on the brake rotors. Maybe it is something you have just never noticed, or been able to see, on other vehicles you have owned?

15 months and 12,000 miles here. No real issues. Had to replace one tire that picked up a large piece of metal. During the worst snow the back brakes made a lot of noise backing out of garage in mornings after driving in the slop. Didn't last though. I have been impressed with how rattle and squeak free it has remained. Still happy with my choice🙂
