Wow, yeah I wouldn’t have thought that would count either. I can sure imagine being ticked off, but let us know how it goes next week.
I use a Libra3 monitor for blood glucose measuring. I chewed on what I thought was sugar free gum. I was wrong. I checked my blood glucose lever 15 minutes later, and it spiked by 30!

Pigpen, always thinking about how you are doing. prayers go your way.

Pigpen are you still keeping ok? Just wanted to reach out.
I’m under home hospice. They provide a hospital bed with a bed trapeze, wheelchair, oxygen concentrator for home. Nurse visits as needed, she takes care of getting my medicine delivered. I’m taking breathing treatments. In addition to oxycodone, now taking methadone also. When it gets to where I can’t do for myself, I’ll go into a final care facility. Probably around January/February. Thanks for checking in.

Hey just checking in to see how you’re doing.
No appetite, nauseous when coughing. Pains in chest when I cough. Increasing breathlessness, weak, can’t walk ten feet without running out of steam and having to either sit or fall. My walker used to do the job of getting me from room to room. I still use walker, but have kitchen chairs spaced at 6-10 foot intervals the length of the house to collapse on. The hospice provided me with a hospital bed, but the mattress is awful. I slept in the bed one night, woke with back and shoulder pain so bad that it was all I could do to get out of bed. Will be looking into getting a mattress from William’s Medical Supply on Monday.. I figure to rent one to see if it’s comfortable, and if it is, buy one. Kind of pricey at $1035, but sleeping in this recliner also induces pain, but at least it’s easy to get out of. Coughing up red tinged phlegm about every five minutes. I don’t think I’ll be able to go the distance. When I can’t take care of myself anymore, they want to put me in a hospice facility. Not keen on the idea, though it would be a relief to have my pain meds increased and be taken care of. I just want this to be over.

I have been following this thread. I am so very sorry you are going through this pain. My father was diagnosed with lung cancer, they did surgery to remove part of a lung and a rib. But he didn't leave the hospital. For him it was relatively quick.

I am not very religious, but would hope for the remainder of your time to be as comfortable as possible.

How did the bed work out? Please keep us updated. You have a forum here behind you with some very empathetic folks.

New mattress comfy, but thicker, harder to get into bed. I’m at a point where lungs are filling up with phlegm, breathing treatments help a little. But I’m always short of breath. Being short of breath is unpleasant and scary while lying in bed or the recliner, but it’s terrifying when I’m trying to be mobile. Just going to the kitchen for something to eat or an Ensure makes me fear for my life. Seriously, fellow forum members, you don’t want any parts of what I’m going through. It can happen to you. Quit now. Anything to do with nicotine. Smoking, chewing, vaping, snuff, are all just voluntarily methods of ingesting a poison.

Good for you for warning people Pigpen.

I'm very sorry to hear of your breathing trouble.

I'm glad that at least your mattress is more comfortable. Would a small step/wooden box help with getting in and out?

I’m thinking along those lines.

I’m just over a decade quit now as I couldn’t imagine having to go through what you’re onto now. I really feel for you & my prayer for you is that at least you can be comfortable going through this.
