Thanks RIVAL, going to order!
I hate the felt! I know I'll still have some but my experience w my escape underbody felt crap made me realize this is a must on my next vehicle. The tear on that one started at the front, most likely from rocks or road debris. Reinstalled 3 times at dealership (the fasteners are crap too) until I zip tied it, then finally just ripped it off and ordered a new one. Big headache with supply and fasteners that took a couple months. Hopefully this will prevent some issues.

Makes sense to me. By the way, the skid plate arrived today. Fast shipping! Now all I need to do is make an appointment to get it installed. Maybe the local muffler shop would be cheaper than the dealership.
As long as you’ve got a basic socket set and ratchet, this should be a 15-20 minute install for you.

Does it attach with existing bolt threaded inserts or holes or do you need to add them?
It attaches to existing mounting points, no-drill no-cut installation.

Agreed, we just followed the way Ford made their OEM plastic where they have only oil change port :). However, we've added that strength of 1/4-in thick aluminum there of course...
I'm not sure I'll ever change oil w/o changing the filter also...so drain plug-only access is moot, for me anyway.

When you expect will have the one for Badlands?
Why? Badlands has a steel bash plate already. But then adding BOTH drain plug and oil filter accesses (w/o removing the whole bash plate) might be pretty great if they did that. Changes are taking me 1:15 every time (4x now).

The dealership will be doing my oil changes. They can remove the entire thing and change the filter and the oil.

My previous vehicle, a 2015 Ford Transit Connect XLT wagon/Minivan with the 2.4 Liter out of the old Ranger pick ups had this same fiberboard stuff under the engine for aerodynamics.
It was way bigger than our BS’s
I changed my own oil back then. The van rode low, like 6” above the pavement.
I would swing it to the side to do the oil n filter. Wore out the nylon
Bolt captures got bigger bolts.
It got a lot of scars over its 129,000 miles. It never tore open, never had a hole punched in it.
But I was never off road.
I got hit by lightening once, Ford repaired it. $7,600 and considered a road hazard claim so it was paid by insurance.
Anyway after being in the shop for 12 weeks they lost that fiber cover.
I took the van and they called me two days later. They found the cover.
Driving without it I had a super noisy two days on the road.
It eliminated road noise and did it effectively.
Just sayin.
BTW tires do nothing to protect you from lightening. Closed windows and the outside metal skin does by shunting to the ground.
I had a window cracked a half inch and my hand near that.
Felt like somebody hit me in the back with a baseball bat and burned the palm of my hand.
The only electrical thing that survived was the headlights, tail lights and cabin lights.
And for the wow factor.
that was my second strike.
My first was in the rain on a motor cycle. It burned some hair in my helmet, smelled it the next day, needed a new helmet. Bike was fine.
Third time was five years ago.
Opened my house like when we all followed the bomb down into the Arizona on the movie Pearl Harbor.
Sounded like a Howitzer.
I couldn’t see for close to a minute. Did $27,000 in damages..
I’m still here. Now go put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Fwiw I will be purchasing Rivals Front Aluminum Skid Pan and when it comes available the one that will protect that fuel tank evap what ever.
