If you don't want-need locking lug nuts, buy a quality set of 1 piece. made for the sport.

I prefer having one locking nut on each wheel. When I take my BS in for oil change, tire rotation, I remove the locking lug nut off each wheel and put on the regular nut.

I don't want the "tech" getting his meat hooks on the key and screwing it or the lug nut up.

Torque spec is 100 ft./lbs. No reason to deviate from it.

The car I'm borrowing is a 2020 CRV. So for kicks I took off one of the lug nuts and it fits on ours perfectly. I looked it up and they both have 60° conical ends.
Are the Honda's wheels alloy or steel? I would be concerned there isn't enough bevel on the Honda lugnuts. The Ford lugnuts spread the torque across the entire length of the bevel. The shorter bevel on the Honda might not be appropriate for an alloy wheel.

I finally got the stupid blank blank word that I'm not going to say on here. I sacrificed every 12.3/4 socket that I had from all my leftover tool sets and I finally found a really good one from actually a really cheap Walmart brand companion. I don't know if it's because it's cheap and it's self-metal that it just bent better to the socket or what but the stupid thing finally came off. Also, one thing I realized with only having that nut on there, the tire was actually putting pressure on the lug nut as well. So I put two other lug nuts on screw them on so they were helping carry the weight to take some weight off that one lug nut and I put it up in the air but I put a little actually use an old brass pulley to lock the wheel in place so it didn't spin the transmission. And with that and my breaker bar and not even trying that hard it got it off. It's not super Rusty inside. There's a little bit a little bit of dirt, maybe just like the others. It's pretty scuffed up on the 60° cone, but I don't see any particular reason why this was so hard to get off. Except I think what happened was I left every other lug nut off so the wheel was putting a lot of side pressure on the lug nut and that was adding to the problems and I didn't have that when I did the others with the others. I had all the other lug nuts on as well. So that might be something to remember if you ever have to deal with this. And I might have gotten it off sooner and saved myself $55 in stupid tools.

And that's what I wasn't sure about. So I'm just going to buy a set that's made for the broncos sport that I know is good. Brand name one piece lug nut. It was just a crazy thought I had

When I was doing tire work in the 70's, I was told that putting anti seize was illegal. Maybe that was only for semi's.

So I decided to just go over to the local AutoZone and pick up their brand which is White Knight. I grabbed the ones that have splines on them. I guess they're supposed to be kind of a locking key, but since you can buy the key anywhere it's not really. I just like the idea that it would have better contactless chance of stripping and you can buy the key anywhere if you lose it. Also, the key offered two different sizes that you can use to turn it would seem cool and I really just want to swap all those lug nuts out cuz some of them were starting to get rust in them and some of them were kind of scored on the conical end and just want to get everything back to how it should be

and to think, all you had to do was leave the key in the glove box or center console

Have McGards (with anti-theft locking lugs) on all my vehicles. They are, in a word, awesome. I'm sure there are other great brands out there, but I've had such good luck/experience with McGard I won't use any other brand.
Me either!

I hate to say it buy locks only keep honest people out. Sadly have had many friends with wheel locks and still found their car on bricks the next day. Locks certainly help deter thieves!

Nothing is 100% in this world except the 2 knowns. Plus getting rid of the POS Ford lug nuts is another benefit so I figured might as well get the locks also.

I'm thinking it's your posting of the McGard kit when he was specifically referring to McGard wheel locks. Cheers!
