Greetings yall. Have a 22 Badlands and I love it. One of the best vehicles I have ever owned. Now for the concern. It is 84F and I have to run the AC on MAX air in order to cool the interior to an acceptable comfort level. This is not just the initial cool down on a hot day but needs to run constantly at MAX. When I turn down to Auto or mid fan speed it heats up and wont maintain comfortable cabin temps. Its like there isnt much in the way of fan performance. Any thoughts?
Thanks for your consideration.

It might be something simple. The "AUTO" button on your HVAC panel has three lights. It controls how aggressive the system is while running in auto. If it's on setting one--one light illuminated--the fan will not run on high speed. Try setting two or three.

I think something is wrong like Justin above . I live in Texas where we've been well over 100F with fairly high humidity and I almost never run it on MAX AC. I haven't had any problems keeping it at a comfortable level. Cheers!

I had this issue and it took the dealer over a year to fix it properly. They tried to BS me saying the CPU is programmed to operate within a certain temperature parameter setting but never explained what temp was. After my last warning I was going to complain to corporate they evacuated the old refrigerant reloaded it and now it works properly.

I live in southwestern Utah and it was 113 degrees for a few days and we'll be over 105 most days. I have never ever run it's on max.

You check AC buy comparing the outside temperature to the temp coming out of the vents. Any AC shop can tell you in 5 minutes if it is operating efficiently. The dealer should be able to do the same.

Mark S, your photo didn't show up for me. Just a question mark.

let’s start with the obvious. When you switch to AUTO what is the temperature set at?

Don't know why the pic doesn't load; it's from this site! I copied a photo from the owner's manual instead.

Same here in OK, we have consecutive days over 100 degrees and I've never needed to turn on MAX.

Took it in to the dealership as it is still under warranty. They said the cabin air filter had blown out and was restricting the airflow. Replaced the filter and it remedied the situation. Sad thing is that is a maintenance item and the diagnostics along with the filter replacement was ~ $250
