Do you get gas mileage within the reported range of 21 to 26 MPG for a Bronco Sport Badlands trim?d

Sorry, I was napping. Wassup?

There are any number of websites that list factors affecting fuel economy. IMHO, the number one factor that reduces mileage is frequent, short trips during which the engine never gets to warm up. Hand measure your mileage over several tanks them report back. My Badlands gets the advertised mileage.

If you are city driving, at least in Los Angeles there are times when your creeping along at 10 to 15 mph, for a few car lengths then stopping and going again, you need to be rolling at a more constant speed for more than stoplight to stoplight for the mileage to come up, it's how it is. All of my vehicles have lower mpg in that situation, it has nothing to do with the vehicle being a Badlands or what blend of gas.
Tire pressure may help some if your tires are grossly under inflated or if your air filter was completely plugged you could get a boost with a new filter. I'm not bothered by it, I'm more bothered by the time wasted time you can never get back.

It would have been nice if the poll asked if we got better than the advertised mileage. I have a 1-1/2" lift and the Falken 235/70R17 tires and have only reset my overall mileage once. For the first year, it was over 27 mpg with a mix of mostly suburban driving and a weekly 100 mile trip. I drive in ECO mode mostly, and It has fallen this winter, but it is still 26 mpg overall. At non-freeway driving from 50 to 70 mph, I usualy get 32-34 miles per gallon. Coming back from a trip last week (no trailer) at 70 mph, with a 20 mph headwind, I got 20 mpg.

Offroad, I'm lucky to get 20 mpg, but the offroad capabilities continue to amaze me. I crossed a washed out arroyo last week that had me worried, but didn't even touch my skid plates.

Just did a @300 mile drive yesterday @ 70 mph (some short bursts to 85), only came to a full stop six times, and had some fairly stiff grades. BS got 28.9 mpg on the display (which reads @ 1.1 mpg low). On flat land I get in the 30’s for mpg, in LA traffic it drops into high teens-low 20’s.

I'm driving a '23 Outerbanks and I'm getting abysmal mileage 50/50 highway/city my last tank averaged 21.8. I'm disappointed to say the least.

Even though I'm still waiting on mine to be built, I can safely predict that my average fuel economy will be a solid 10mpg better than my wife.

Regardless, I'm not going to complain (too much); I had a PT Cruiser that couldn't break 19mpg downhill with a tailwind, and don't even get me started on the Dodge pickup that had trouble breaking double digits. Something about Chrysler products...

dudeee something is very wrong here - 50/50 should be giving you at least 26….I am getting 31 mpg on mine now, but it’s -25F outside ?? and mostly highway

Thanks everybody for your words of wisdom. I'm a newbie on this forum and actually a newbie to any car forum. Kind of cool to have a community of people that all have the same vehicle.

Drive on!!???

Welcome aboard. Didn't know there was a city called Tehachapi down there. Although I have driven down to the Rainbow, Temecula area and back from Washington state.

As far as MPG - never thought to look in the 10 months of ownership so far. But I do like to use the Sport mode.

I agree. I have been tracking my mileage on fuelly. The best I have reported was 27.8 populated by a full tank of 91 100% highway miles on a recent trip to Wala Wala. Hoping for a better result I recorded one tank using eco mode and the outcome was terrible - both mileage and driving.

I asked on the last page of this Thread if your F-150 has the Power Boost 3.5 in it?

I just bought a 2023 Bronco Sport Badlands trim model with 2400 miles on it. Love the car but I am only averaging 17.8 mi in the city. What's going on???? That's not anywhere near the 21 miles cited by Ford. Anybody have any ideas of why my gas mileage is so poor? The vehicle is stock with no additional racks. Otherwise I love the car. I'm just really disappointed with the poor gas mileage.

I have a 2022 Bronco Sport Badlands with 17/k (2 Liter) miles when I bought it four months ago. It currently has 21/k miles on it. I drive it with the "eco" setting on the GOAT dial most of the time. I set the display console to record avg MPG while driving. I have driven it to record a peak of 30 MPG with "eco driving" at 60 MPH on the highway. However, most of it records at 24-28 MPG if I don't floor it all the time. I use 88 octane gas and a new set of Falken Wildpeak tires. I'm very satisfied with that seeing my 1999 Ford Expedition (Eddie Bauer) got about 12-15 MPG. I couldn't be happier, but it doesn't tow as much weight as my Expedition did. Something like 2200 lbs vs 8000 lbs is the difference.
