I had something similar happen to me about two months ago!

It was around 2am (leaving bars) about an hour away from home, engine booted up but the emergency break wouldn't turn back off and then all the system lights turned on. Thankfully, it only took turning the car off and on a couple of times to resolve so I wasn't stuck out there for longer than 5 minutes. Tech trouble shoot rule #1: reboot first before anything else!!

Haven't had an issue since, been very cautious since then though too.

Keeping an eye here to see if this happens more than once for anyone.

I stopped for gas. After driving 40 min home. Got back in to start and every light, bell and whistle went off. All safety came across as disabled on the screen... everything... the start button light flashed and the gear selector light was blinking too... it would not start.
Thanks for making this thread and giving it such a memorable name!

Same thing happened to me tonight: stopped for gas after ~30 minutes of driving. Filled up. Car wouldn't start, every 'system failure' warning flashed on the screen, the 'P' on the rotary shifter blinked.

As I was thumbing through the owner's manual, I remembered this thread, pulled it up on my phone, and chilled out inside the gas station for ~5 minutes based on the advice here.

Thought I'd be clever and try remote start from the Ford app -- all that did was make the horn honk again and again until I closed the app.

So I got back into the car, pressed the brake pedal, pressed the start button rapidly 5-6 times, took my foot off the brake for a second, then pressed the brake and started as I normally would. It worked and the Sport's been fine since.

I'm taking it to the dealership so they can read any error codes -- plus I want this documented in case something else goes wrong.

For anyone reading this down the line, don't disconnect the battery right away.

Update: took the Sport to a dealership. All "U codes"/communications codes involving "half" of the onboard modules. They updated the PCM software and I was on my way.

The service advisor said there's a documented issue in their system that presents similar symptoms -- car won't start, a bunch of warnings flash on the dash -- but with a different set of error codes. This is due to a faulty transmission wiring harness and according to the service manager can cause the vehicle to die even while driving. So if anyone else experiences the issues described in this thread, you should take your Sport to a Ford dealer to make sure your wiring harness isn't defective.

Same thing happened to my wife's F150. Only ever happened once while she had it.

Dec 12th, 6:00 am - this same thing happen to me after driving for about 20 minutes, stopped at a store for less than a minute as they were not open yet. went back to BS, would not start and all the
safety features came across the screen as disabled, the shifter was in park and was blinking. I waiting like 30 seconds, tried again and same thing. After a minute, started up like nothing. Went on my way. Has started 3 times today with no issues. Plan to call service and take in to get checked out. Was wondering if anyone has any updates on what this could be? Thanks,

I wonder if this a static discharge issue glitching the electronics.

Edit to add: Or a connection that's loose as in battery connection, body ground, power distribution.

That happened to the wife once when driving the Badlands with a coworker. I checked it out and found the positive battery cable was slightly loose. I re-seated the terminal and torqued the attachment hardware and haven't had another episode. I mentioned it along with some other random messages the were stored in Ford Pass when I took it to the dealer for service, the dealer couldn't find anything wrong.

15000 miles and all good. Keep me updated ??
Just checking with you to see if you’ve had anymore issues.
I took mine in and they couldn’t determine what happened. It’s been about two weeks and so far no issues.
They nice thing is Ford responded to me on this Forum and have been following up with me to see how it’s going
