I guess this is my first modification aside from a wireless Apple Carplay adapter. I've had my Heritage for close to a month and love it, but was very much missing the door keypad I had on the vehicle I traded in. Was able to redeem Ford Reward points and combined it with a 20% promo code and got the whole thing for $188 including dealer installation.

Is Ford deciding to phase the keypads out from the factory? For as long as I can remember the keypad was standard on most if not all Fords. I often lock my keys in my vehicle because I hate carrying them on me and the only other way to do so is to use the FordPass app, which I've found to be a little dodgy and slow.

Ford stopped installing the keypad a few years ago possibly on all their vehicles

its gone to a "option' and standard only on specific trims. it is standard on the OB, but can be ordered as a option on all the other trim levels.

That's unfortunate. One of my favorite features Ford has.

Nice I have the keypad also bought it with ford points, but I have to install it. Plan on doing it myself and seeing if i can enable with forscan. Which I'm 80% sure I can. I just need time.

It was on our 21 big bend but missing from our 24 badlands

ya we use it all the time when tubbing, we will take a vehicle to the end of the river that has the keyless entry and lock a set of keys in it then drive back to the start. drift down the river for a few hours pack everything in to the truck and drive to pick up the start vehicle. very handy for stuff like that.

Unless you can find one on eBay, Ford forces you to buy the installation from their website. If you go to a dealer you may be able to order one without it. I fully recommend watching this video before attempting. You pretty much have to disassemble the entire door and remove the window and regulator :(

Yea, if I didn’t have Ford points and the promo code I found then I probably would’ve lived without it.

Also, the vehicle automatically recognizes the keypad once it's installed. You can absolutely program your code without the dealer. How do I know this? The dealer did not tell me I needed both of my keyfobs for installation. I went home and did a bit of research and found this. Follow the instructions for Integrated Keyhead transmitters. The intelligent key backup slot is underneath the rubber mat where the wireless phone charger is. Within 2 minutes I was able to find the factory code and program my personal code. From there you go to your infotainment screen, select Vehicle, then Keyless Entry. No Ford tech needed.

sweet! That was the only part i wasnt sure about. I seen some language in forscan that sounded like it could be related, but even better if i dont need that
