Happy New Year, everyone!

Today, I installed Go Rhino Dominator D6 running boards on my Bronco Sport. I scored them on Facebook Marketplace for just $100, and they came with the mounting brackets included—a steal considering these typically retail for $500–$700 online.

The only hiccup was that the mounting screws were missing. Luckily, my little brother and I were able to improvise a solution. It was a bit of a hassle at first, but we got it sorted, and now the boards are mounted just as securely as they would be with the original hardware. (For anyone curious, I’ve included a link to the installation instructions from RealTruck below.)

I know these running boards reduce some clearance on the sides, but I’m planning to add a 2.5-inch Woolworth lift kit, which should offset that. Overall, I’m thrilled with how these look on the Bronco—they’re sturdy and functional. They’ll be perfect for off-roading, loading kayaks, and, of course, keeping my doors safe from stray shopping carts while I’m “mall crawling.”

Look good. Are they also a functional step or not really?
Absolutely. Also very helpful for roof accessibility in regard to tying things down that are mounted to the roof. Plus makes using the squeegee at the gas station a breeze when cleaning the front windshield lol.

Nice install. I’m curious how they look with the doors open. Might we have a glance?

Looks good. How far out do they stick compared to the farthest point out of the door? Having something to prevent door dings would be a great additional bonus but they seem a bit low and not out far enough to help for that.

They wouldn’t really protect against door dings. Just threw in the mall crawler joke ? This would probably be your best best for that..

Look nice but do they qualify as rock sliders? Really doesn't matter for what you paid though.

I’ll find out over time. If I run into issues, I’ll definitely report back. I don’t plan on doing any serious “sliding” (hence the quotes), since they’re not technically rock sliders. But we’ll see how they hold up in the real world. I’m a fan of the look, and they do offer some extra protection. They’re pretty heavy-duty—I don’t think they’ll bend, though if anything gives, it’ll probably be the two bolts holding them on.
