Installed deer whislers on my 2024 Big Bend Sport

Heard from many folks that they work while some say they don't. Cheap insurance I guess if they do!

While living in the Pocono Mountains in PA for 10 years, these were new and common. Most of the people I knew had hit deer at varying speeds. A hunting magazine tested a few different brands at a deer sanctuary with mixed results.
Their opinion was that if you have installed the deer whistles, you are already a more alert and competent driver, the whistles do little to protect.

I’ve installed deer whistles on every vehicle I’ve owned since a deer totaled my 1994 Lincoln Town Car. I’ve not hit a deer since then.
Does that mean I won’t? I don’t know. But I have seen deer raise their heads as I was approaching them.
For $6 a pair I’ll continue using them but I’m not convinced that I haven’t just been lucky.

always wondered what the testing for these are? still seen people with them hit deer.

We have had them for over 30 years as well. An auto body shop owner said half the vehicles he sees have them and half don’t. He said they work for you!

Been through this with my HARLEY ... soon as you get a couple bugs in them, they don't work! They do make electronic ones that bugs do not affect!

When it comes to deer whistles, “there's no demonstrative effectiveness".
Deer whistles were no more effective than no sound at all.

Good idea! I should have done the same for I really was thinking about installing "Wind Splitters' where they are mounted. These really help reduce sway from wind gusts while on the highway and have proven successful at the Nürburgring 24 hours endurance race during 1970s and 80s.

Make sure you don’t mount them backwards! You don’t want to attract the deer!
