I'm in need of help. I've had my 2024 BS Heritage for 2.5 months. No problems. I got in it yesterday and it would not start. It said "no key detected

I stumbledupon another possibility.
A TPMS warning code came on. The tire psi is fine. I just read that a faulty tire sensor can create the inability to read the key fob. Thoughts?
I got your message and I did a little Googling and found people have reported TPMS warnings causing issues with the key not being recognized. However, I don't think that's the case. I think whatever is causing the key fob to not be recognized may also be causing the TPMS warnings as both are functions controlled by the BCM.

The one thing you can try is to disconnect the negative cable from the 12v battery for 20 minutes. This will cause a hard reset of the entire module network. If that does not work, then take advantage of your factory warranty and let the dealer figure it out.

Thank you so much for all of your advice. I appreciate your time to help me. I do have an upcoming appointment with the dealer. When I get home from work today I will disconnect the negative cable. I'll keep you updated.

Not sure of a way to get it in neutral, but when you call roadside assistance or AAA or whatever you plan to use, tell them the vehicle cannot be put in neutral and you need a traditional type tow truck (not a flat bed) with dollies so they can take it to the dealer without having to drag it onto a flatbed and risk damaging the drivetrain.

I vaguely remember that the procedure for 2023 and up BS may be different, but my 2022 Owners Manual has a "Manual Park Release" procedure under the Transmission section (so maybe see what your Owners Manual has to offer. Cheers!

Similar info was posted way back in post #28 which is repeated here:

btw the link below and its reference to #19 probably is not as up to date of a procedure as rugedraw posted above in #35

With both keyfobs dead, putting them in their center console special place doesn’t work and a dead 12V battery - that’s an interesting conundrum

even if you had a jump battery or installed a fully charged 12V battery the 2024s are difficult (but not impossible) to get into neutral

The procedure is probably in your owners manual maybe but if not there is a forum post with the instructions - there is a special “tool” probably in your glovebox

Check around Post #19 (in link below):

I am truly sorry for your situation and the amount of time this is taking. After looking at the procedure on how to get it into neutral, with tools and everything, thank God I still drive a manual transmission.
