Soon: 2025 BS OBX Now: 2019 Edge Titanium, 2014 F150 XTR, 2006 mustang GT
As our kids have grown we have shrunk the vehicle, lol! (But also have an F150 for larger requirements, although it often feels too small still)

Kids we born 13 months apart in the back half of our 2008 escape lease, went to 2011 Explorer. (Also had 2009 Fusion) Explorer was a lemon and needed more pulling power so replaced it with F150 and wife/kids moved into Fusion.

Got 2019 Edge when they were 10/11
2025 BS replaced Edge before impending transmission replacement when they were 14/15. Lol

Yep tiny, but wife wanted Bronco when it came back out and we weren't going to get full size for what she uses it for.

I hear ya, and I laugh sometimes that we still did it. (Even when we did test drive I said --- this is smaller than the Edge!!!)

or even a wife that went places with me (her health makes her homebound unfortunately) I would not have a BS. It's just me, a bike, and camping gear. It is soooo small inside.
No matter how much space you have, you’ll end up filling it. (At least that's my case)

There are families of four doing 10–15 day trips in compact hatchbacks without any major issues. It’s really more about how you organize and prioritize than the actual vehicle size.

In my case, I can honestly say that for a simple 2-day trip — no camping involved — I’ve managed to completely fill every vehicle I’ve ever owned. It just happens. 😂

So I wouldn’t take vehicle size as the limiting factor. The constraint is usually how much we choose to bring, not how much space we actually have.

The cargo area in my 2025 6th gen Toyota 4Runner is larger than my wife's new 2026 Badlands BS, but her seating areas driver, passenger, back seats feels roomier than my 4Runner. For a road trip last fall with wife and two large dogs, I needed a cargo box for the top of the 4Runner. Same if we were going to use the Badlands. If we had bikes, I'd use a bike rack.

Not sure what the issue is. I haven't tried it, but it does look like you could squeeze 3 fat chics and a couple of cases of twinkies in it and be comfortable still.

Ours is fine for us. Our kids are grown. On occasion, we have some of the (17) grands with us. Otherwise, it's just me, the wife and a 2-year old labradoodle.

thats weird, I found it just the opposit, I was surprised how much head room you had and how big it feels. I always surprise myself when I get out after a long drive and look back and I am amazed how small it is on the outside. we have had 4 full size men in it on a road trip and no one complained. storage space, ya it adiquite I can see where some might fell thats a little small, but its bigger than the trunk on my old fusion and with the back seat folded down I can even fit my huge hockey bag and sticks on the back. but ya it would be tight for four people to go tent camping.

Eh. We grew up with a 1988 Nissan Sentra 2 door. Family of 4 and sometimes our 2 cousins. It wasn't the most comfortable but we made it.

I remember being in the back seat of a 2nd Gen Xterra and I couldn't do it. I had my knees pressed against the front seat and it was too much for me. I think I'm able to put my feet down in the back of the BS.

Actually;
I was thinking , as I was looking for places inside my BS to squirrel gear away, that it is so much bigger, inside, than I'm used to that packing the camping gear inside will be, almost, no challenge at all.
I'm used to packing gear into an old school Jeep; roughly 3' x 3' x30 inches (so I can still see out the rear view mirror)...
This expanded a bit , though not much when I started using an Explorer for "civilized camping".

Here's a pick of my partially unloaded TJ;
Ford Bronco Sport If I had kids... DSCF0304

and one of the tent/site...
Ford Bronco Sport If I had kids... DSCF0313

I used to use the dome for "compact" camping... I still have it but preferr the additinal headroom inside , Standing Room (cube style) tent.

Enjoy!

As Americans have increased in size, so has the desire for more doors and larger vehicles. My kids were forced to grow up in two door vehicles like Mustangs, Camaros, two door pick ups. My wife at the time decided she wanted a larger vehicle and bought a Taurus wagon. Personally, I have for the most part kept with 2 door vehicles. There are many on the 6g site that claim if you have kids, you need a 4 door for getting kids in the back and storage space.

I recall taking the Mustang out west with both kids and a couple weeks of camping supplies stuffed inside. It was just fine at the time.

As for the Sport, it replaced a 4 door 2006 Escape. My kids were grown up and gone at the time I purchased the Escape. I would not consider the Sport as a really small vehicle. The 2 Door Bronco replaced a 2 door 1995 F-150 Lighting. Based on my record, I’ll die while still owning a 2 door vehicle.

I had gone back and forth with 2 doors. My first was a 1989 Nissan Pulsar NX, then a Ford Escort ZX2. After that I kind of fell into some sedans that I didn't have a choice of. After I was looking for an Accord coupe but they were getting harder and harder to find in the trim I wanted. Now I have the BS.

On my list of future vehicles... new Prelude and 2 dr Bronco are near the top along with the new Passport. I'd take a 2 dr Passport but they don't make them.

Fun fact....On the Bronco Sport you can drive on the freeway and use the rear camera to see where you've been allowing for bottom to top secured storage.
