I love my 2023 Bronco Sport Heritage, but there is no pickup. I like to zoom onto the beltway but have trouble increasing speed.

Anyone else? I’ve trained all my cars, but my husband is a slow driver, so that may account for the loss of speed.

Anything I can do to get faster response?

You can try using sport mode, this will hold lower gears longer to accelerate faster.

I have the 1.5L engine also and don't have a problem with speed merging on to a highway.

Sport mode should give you better acceleration. My wife leaves her HRV in ECO mode and I need to remember when I get in it to disable before I do something that might get us run over.

That's what the paddle shifters are for. I use them every time I merge onto the highway. I tap the downshift paddle once or twice, floor it and feel myself press into the seat as I shoot forward, engine screaming.

AFAIK, there are no paddle shifters on trims other than the Badlands.

What is a paddle shifter?

Padder shifters are mounted on each side behind the steering wheel. One paddle shifts up a gear and one shifts down a gear. Only Bronco Sports with the 2.0L engine get them. (Badlands, Heritage Limited and First Edition)

I am completely amazed on just how peppy this 3 cylinder 1.5 is, It has amazing guts and get up and go.

And if I need more, I step into the '67 Camaro.

Agreed. I rarely ever even put it into sport mode honestly and it still feels fun to drive. I do enjoy throwing it into sport mode on occasion though especially since I got these big knobby tired on. I love the sound it makes on the highway.

Have no problems with merging onto highways at speed .. maybe your husband needs to put the pedal to the metal , kick er down into passing gear !
