Ford’s reliability rankings are back down lately, but Honda has been below average for a while. I had a 2017 CRV that was a lemon. My folks had a 2000 odyssey that needed major transmission work after 60k.
I've owned/leased Hondas and Acuras and never had any issues.

You did not quote any sources.
The Honda CVT transmission is a problem child. Look that one up.
No CVT for me, V6 Honda and Acura vehicles. My last Honda was a Ridgeline and the Passport or BS was my latest choices. I went with the BS

Well, enough people have that their JD power ranking is lower than Jeep. Higher than Ford this year, but it was the reverse in 2020 and ‘21 when I got my BS.

I have never owned a Honda. Their styling does not move me.

There comes a time, at least for me, that buying on looks plays an important part of my purchase decision. There have been countless car purchases that I have made where fuel economy was tossed out the window, and a smile effect replaced that.

The BS still amazes me with its power that comes from a 1.5 liter 3 cylinder turbo. I've always been an advocate of "there's no replacement for displacement", meaning cubic inches of engine meant everything. My 67 Camaro still reminds me of that old school way of thinking.

However, the bronco Sport continues to make me grin, in a good way.

Right I believe you. But you'll see ppl say been buying Fords for decades never had an issue.

My 2009 Pilot bought new: warped brake rotors 20k miles, leaking front lower control arm bushings (oil filled), power mirror broke at 4 years mark. My '14 CRV grind on start timing chain issue which Honda has no fix for. '06 Civic cracked engine block. Ppl who think Hondas never have problems are not well informed.

2017 up CRV gas in oil wide spread issue. 2016 Pilot 9 speed trans failures galore. Honda CVT trans failures. I knew a guy bought new Accord and valve dropped into cylinder.

Go over to any Honda forum, Pilot, Civic, CRV, Ridgeline problems galore. They are far from infallible. If you think Hondas are infallible immune to defects I say trade in Ford get a Honda.

Where Honda shines is resale value hands down.
Buy a new Honda run a bunch of miles on it and its still worth a lot of money.

The funny thing is I never keep a vehicle long enough to stack up the miles. Even more so since we retired and I'd like to keep the vehicles at least a bit longer.
If I plan to keep a vehicle after basic warranty, I'll buy an online discounted Ford Protect and a discounted Honda warranty,

Absolutely no comparison (in my mind) in the looks department. Unless, of course, you're a jelly bean fan:

And that's just the outgoing fifth generation (2017-2022) The 2023 is worse. Even more tame and jelly bean. At least the previous gen had some edginess in its design.

Edginess? Hmmm that’s a stretch, me thinks.

I think it looks much better than the last generation. Sleeker and more modern.
