So I went camping just south of camp Verde here in AZ I wanted to go further north but there was a big winter storm alert so I thought I'd be safe where I was at lower elevation, nope.

Anyways the trail had this dry mud that just stuck to everything and when I got to the spot I had to go off trail to turn the trailer around and oh wow did I almost get stuck but I stayed in it and was in mud and ruts mode and got it turned around but when I stopped I found out the mud had gotten so bad it filled the whole wheel well of the outside trailer tire and was acting like a brake not letting the tire turn and dragging it and I still made it.

Also when I woke up The next day about 5 inches of snow had come down and when I went to leave the sun was out and it was already melting the snow and it just turned it into the slipperiest mushiest mud in the world and even with 2,000 lb of trailer behind me I was able to get going from being stopped in the mud and make it uphill down the trail until I fell into some really deep ruts and unfortunately the people who made the trailer decide to put the spare tire on the bottom of the trailer tongue, the triangle part in the front that attaches to the vehicle, and when I tried to back up to get out of the ruts it fell into other ruts and started jackknifing about 10 ft before I was able to get out of the ruts to go around them. So I actually had to disconnect from the trailer But oh my God it continues to surprise me how good these are especially in the mud and snow and just finding traction anywhere although I will say I did get stuck a few times especially going uphill and I had to kind of rock it to get going again and I did have to dig out the slight mound once I came to a stop and got stuck so it was flat so that the front tires weren't going slightly uphill against the rut I just made but I would get going again and I only had to do that twice. And I wish there'd been another person filming how crazy the trail was and how crazy and slippery the mud was and it just kept trucking again. I did have to peddle it because unfortunately we don't have a low range which would have helped immensely so the tires would start spinning out really bad but I'd let off it and then they'd slow down and start going again and it was just so amazing how good it was especially with 2,000 lb of trailer behind it. When I unhooked from the trailer later and was driving just the baby bronco it was like nothing.

Here's a couple of pics:

Last Friday I drove over Wolf Creek Pass in Colorado. At approximately 1/3 0f the way up [ heading west} it was blizzard conditions, I shifted into slippery mode and made it without issue, other than thinking I might need to get the steering wheel regripped.

Put a hood scoop on and you'll love it even more!

(Seriously! We had the Ford hood scoop painted to color match and installed by a local body shop. Really makes our BS BL even more "bad lands-er-er"! Nothing functional; just looks great. Makes the "baby Bronco" more Bronco-ish, less "baby.")

Great pix of your adventure. Nicely done! ?

I've been very impressed by the off road chops of my Badlands.

My friend has a Tacoma with a hood scoop and hates it. When you're off road, you can't see the rocks ahead of you.

Fords are bad enough with the hood being so high. It isn't like the engine is a V8.

That is a good point. I don't think I'll be putting a hood scoop on mine, especially if it's non-functional I worry about The air drag on it affecting MPG as well as it just eventually getting pulled off cuz I see a lot of both be put on with just like double-sided tape. But no, I don't want to do a Clint scoop to teach their own. But if you did do one, as long as you're gone slow enough
