My factory EFB (battery) was replaced under warranty with an AGM Battery and was told the replacement battery expires when the 36 month 36k mile factory warranty expires

Owners like you that got a new battery under Recall 25S02 reported they have a full 3 yr 36 month warranty on the new battery - so I would guess you have a full warranty

For those that have had the battery recall done. Has the dealer also updated the BCM and PCM software?
Mine was updated the previous week when it was in for an oil change.

Did you get a 36 month warranty with the new battery?
I didn’t ask. I was planning on getting a Walmart battery when the recall came out, then hoping that the Motorcraft one would last until the remedy came along. If I see signs that the new one has problems I’ll probably go to Walmart to replace it. Been pretty happy with those.

My Big Bend battery was shot just a few weeks ago. It would trickle charge enough to start but wouldn't hold a charge. Recall visit replaced battery and no issue.

My battery crapped out 7/24 and I paid to replace it (at Ford dealer). Spoke to Service Manager today (after a call to Ford Customer Service). He said he would start refund today and call me as soon as my check was ready — fingers crossed!

Good luck! Hope it works out for you. I don't see why there would be any issues.

Ford’s mobile service replaced my battery yesterday.

I didn’t have a single problem with the recalled battery, thankfully.

I was told the battery itself has a 36 month warranty.

He mentioned something about the 1.5 engines with the water pump/injector problem. Apparently they’re going to replace the entire engine if it results in failure.

If they open your hood and see anything other than a Ford branded AGM battery in there, it will be deemed a necessary part if the dealer is following Ford's instructions.
Yup... just had mine serviced today and indeed they did replace my battery which was an aftermarket AGM battery that was working fine after I had to bare the expense of replacing the original battery that went dead a year ago... but was told that would not be covered...ugh... oh well at least they used an AGM battery.

Will Ford reimburse me for the battery I paid almost $300 for last year before this recall admitted it was defective? And that damn auto stop stop (ASS is a good acronym for the stupid thing) function caused me to be stranded at a stop light after being jump started to take this piece of shit to the dealer that day. I've owned multiple Fords over my 77 years and this 2021 Bronco Sport will be my last
Yup..understand your frustration. I had to pay for my own AGM battery last year and as you mentioned they are not cheap... oh well at least they issued me an AGM battery in its place.

I'm confused (???). If you already had an AGM installed, they should have looked at it and done nothing but update records since it wasn't an EFB. Cheers!

Following whatever directive they received from FORD simply stated that if the technician observed any battery other then the newly approved FORD/AGM battery he/she would be required to replace the foreign battery... I would have liked to keep that battery as a backup, but they were also required to keep whatever battery they removed for their exchange requirements.

I replaced the original battery on my '21 BSBL when it failed. New battery ($300+) failed in 3 weeks. Ford sent service to my home (50+ miles), replaced 2 modules AND battery, and started paperwork to refund cost of battery that I purchased. Fortunately, while my BSBL was down, my daughter lent me HER BSBL!

It’s does seem that you will get the AGM Battery. The workshop procedure for 25S02 lists a check: if not an AGM, replace battery with an AGM Battery. Other owners reported their non-chinese EFB was replaced under this recall with the AGM Battery.
Nope, no new battery for me. Took the car in for 25S24 recall (only recall showing for vehicle). While I was talking to service advisor I specifically asked about battery and mentioned I had an EFB. He looked at his computer, said, "no, you don't have 25S02, they track all the parts numbers and build dates, you're good to go." I pressed a bit and said I heard that all EFBs were being replaced. He said they'd test it, but if it passed, I'd be keeping my EFB (FORD branded, Mexican built).

They tested it (whatever the test was) and they say it passed, so the EFB is still in there.

... and for me, that's fine. My BL doesn't have the recall, and the battery's never given me reason to worry. . I was just on a 3 week vacation, came back and while it was on battery saver mode, it cranked no problem.

This makes sense. The recall was for a range of vehicles built over a specific time period. These vehicles were fitted with batteries from a specific manufacturer. If your vehicle was outside the date range then your would not have been included in the recall.

Head over to another dealer and show them the procedure for the 25S02A recall … might not work or you might get a new AGM Battery. Here is a copy and paste from a post at the link below.

“I am assuming you are talking about 25V-019:

Description of Remedy Program:

Owners will be notified by mail and instructed to take their vehicle to a Ford or Lincoln dealer to have their vehicle inspected for the presence of a Ford Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) 12V battery. If there is not a Ford AGM battery present, one will be installed. There will be no charge for this service.”
