Hello Community can anyone help me with my 2024 Bronco Sport Badlands with Sync 3.4. When using the Fordpass remote start, neither the heat nor the heated seats activate. I have tried both the "Auto" settings and the "Last" settings to no avail. This is pretty frustrating and the Ford dealer told me that my vehicle didn't come with remote start on the key fob so there is nothing that they can do. This seems strange to me since the settings seem to be there. Is there something that can be programmed to allow my vehicle's heat/heated seats to activiate when starting the vehicle remotely with the Fordpass app. Thank you for any input.

Seems odd. My 22 worked a few weeks ago. I don’t use it often anymore now that I’m retired but when I worked, I used it all the time. Seat was nice and warm. I just checked my FordPass and see no way to turn heated seats on so maybe it has changed.

I know with my 25, climate control set to auto, it has to wait for the engine temps to warm up before the HVAC fires up. I does the same with my 24 Mustang, cant remember which one of the owners manuals stated this.

When the outside temps are really low and it is a cold start, mine has taken up to 10 minutes before the heat turns on. I also notice if I turn the temp all the way up on the Ford pass app it helps.

Questions for you:
What device are you using?

What is the version number of the OS on your device?

The Ford Pass app is now Ford app. The current version is 6.4.0
What version do you have installed?

What Build version of SYNC 3.4 do you have installed?

I know my heater wasn’t often on because of this but the seats were warm.

If I’m not mistaken you need remote start from the key fob to activate heated seats and steering wheel. When I do remote start from the app, I only get my vehicle turned on and nothing else.

You may be correct, though on mine I can control the temp from the app so if I crank it all the way up, the heat will come on after the engine gets to operating temp.

I have a 2025 Outer Banks. There is a setting in which you can set the remote to turn on the seat and steering wheel heaters and the duration that the car runs.

I am trying it right now as I am just getting ready to go to work, I'll let you know what my start from the app does if it is any different from the remote or not.

I tested using the current Ford app to remote start and this is the result.

These are the details:

iPhone 17 Pro
iOS 26.2
Ford app version 6.4.0
SYNC 3.4 Build 23188
2021 Bronco Sport Outer Banks

Outside temperature 50 degrees F

Test 1

Vehicle last had HVAC set to AUTO at 71 degrees F.
Vehicle is locked.

I used the Ford app to remotely start vehicle. I let the vehicle run for 5 minutes. I entered the vehicle with the key in my pocket. Upon entering the vehicle, the heater was on, the driver’s seat heater was on and the steering wheel heater was on.

I pressed the brake pedal and pressed the start button. I confirmed visually that the driver’s seat heater was on high and the steering wheel heater was on. The HVAC controls were set to AUTO and 71 degrees F.

Test 2

I performed the exact same test with the HVAC controls last set to OFF.

The results were the same.

Test 3

I performed the same tests as above utilizing the remote control on the key fob.

The results were exactly the same.

Conclusion

So, the vehicle senses the outside temperature and heats or cools the vehicle during a remote start with either the HVAC system set to AUTO or OFF.

Keep in mind, my device is up to date and running the latest version of the Ford app 6.4.0 (There is no longer a Ford Pass app)

My vehicle is up to date and running the current version of SYNC 3.4 Build 23188.

so using the app, the exact same thing happens as when I use the remote. I get to the car and the rear and mirror heat is on, the heated stering wheel is on, the heated seat is on full blast. now some of thoes things are temprature dependent and I leave my climate controle in auto all the time.
