Looks like it will affect management (salaried) personnel only, not assembly workers.
A 1000 management workers? Now that's being top heavy.

The 1000 just announced relate to engineering in the US and Cañada. I’ve been following Ford’s cuts to engineering for past 6 months: “Ford Motor is cutting its engineering staff as it tries to manage costs during the expensive transition to electric vehicles”
