These systems must be calibrated. It's possible the calibration on yours is somewhat out of whack.

Not a huge deal but had this pop up 3 times In the past week all while driving in fog early in the morning. I’m assuming nothing needs repaired just fog making it hard for the camera to make things out.

Have you read your owners manual? This is a normal behavior of the system during those weather conditions.

I honestly didn’t. If it really bothered me I would have but now I’m aware thank you for the update !

Maybe so. And good to know it's in the manual.

Having said that, I'll add that I find these "alerts" that randomly pop up during these conditions to be, at a minimum, annoying.

Actually, one could say they're bordering on dangerous. It causes one to take one's eyes off the road - during lousy conditions - to see what the vehicle is making a squawk about (both visually and audibly).

Not helpful, Ford.

Honestly how I feel about it. Now that I’m aware it might happen it’s annoying but that first time I’m lucky I didn’t slam on the brakes/veer when it started flashing red and beeping at nothing at all. Plus I would think fog would be the one of more practical time to have precollision assist

Exactly.

Bottom line, if it's normal behavior, why does Ford feel it necessary to alert me?

You'd think. Right? That Ford would have in place something that prevents the condition from happening that it's warning me about?
