Fire Extinguisher Mount Installation - Bronco Sport Badlands
I recently installed a fire extinguisher mount under the passenger seat of my Bronco Sport and wanted to share a few photos of the process.

The mount I used is this one from Amazon:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0GDZQ32YJ

Installation was very straightforward and required removing only two factory seat mounting bolts.

Remove the plastic covers and locate the two seat bolts that need to be removed
You'll need a T55 Torx bit for this step

The mount feels very solid once installed and keeps the extinguisher secure while remaining easily accessible. It also doesn't seem to interfere with normal passenger seat operation.

I'd also like to thank @hallux for the recommendation and for sharing the Amazon link to this mount.

Hopefully this helps anyone considering adding a fire extinguisher to their Bronco Sport.

That's awesome! I've just been hanging mine from the MOLLE webbing on the seatback, and now on the seat cover (I still don't know why I got the front seat covers, the rear I got because of my dog, but had no reason for the front other than maybe to match and have an all black interior?).

The only thing I'd worry about with this is that a passenger would accidentally damage the gauge, or knock the safety pin loose.
I wonder if I could put a stiff plastic cover over the top to protect it. Seems like it shouldn't slow deployment by more than half a second.

I have a similar one i built back in 2023, it doesn't rattle. (Link
(5) I built a fire extinguisher mount.(front passenger seat footwell) | 2021+ Ford Bronco Sport Forum - Broncosportforum.com

).
I found the key to having it not rattle is having it rest on the floor of the cabin using a light bend to keep the downward pressure, floating would rattle and lead to eventual metal fatigue as would "nearly floating" but pressure downward has caused no issues for me to this point.

That said I do want to modify mine so it has a spring loaded "eject" action(jsut add a spring below the mount to aid in one handed operations, simply pull the red knob and it pops out of the cradle. so you dont need to lift with one hand and other hand pulls red knob. I did have issues with the seat traveling full forward and backwards and bumping handle so I rotated the extinguisher so it was pointing more upwards, plus if the car is on fire it would be better for it to be "UP" vs down i figurd.

So fire extinguishers are appearing more and more on the forum. Should I be worried? 🤣 I did own a couple of Fieros. So I’m not skeered. Lol

I said in my original thread that I hung out with the jeep crowd on weekends way back in the woods. A fire extinguisher is a big deal then, you can sell one to a jeep owner in need for a couple hundred.... (I kid I kid)
