Pretty sure the dealer won't turn it off for you. It's likely considered tampering with an emission control device. With the rescinding of the climate change finding two days ago, maybe it would be OK at the federal level, but I doubt a dealer would be willing to test that. Even though the feds rescinded that finding, depending on where you live, there still may be state laws in place.

Forscan can't disable it, or we wouldn't have these conversations.
You are 100% incorrect. You can definitely disable it with forscan. I know this for a fact because I've done it on my own 2025 bronco sport.

I don't think a dealer would turn it off either.

Are we guilty every time we turn it off?

Asked local dealer less than a month ago and they said no and implied it was a directive from Corporate. Maybe this will change now, but will change back when the political pendulum swings back . Be nice to get the choice to disable as an OTA. Hint Mr. Ford!

Mines hopefully officially disabled now. I only have one drive for a check. Lol

I let it fully warm up before I checked it. Made sure I was in normal drive mode. Took it on a two mile drive, and sat a stop sign for almost a minute and it never shut off. Previously, I’d sit there for ten seconds and it would shut off.

Can’t hear the engine cut out?

Straightforward connection between those two.
I can't hear my engine running at a stop light with the radio off, the only way I notice it is the rpm dropping to 0 and the light coming on.

I installed a dongle to auto disable on start, can use button to reenable as needed. Hated this auto feature especially prior to the recall AGM battery replacement.

Ya I’m a huge fan of it when I’ve got my music playing, and I come to a stop sign… and there’s just enough of a gap to pull out, and it takes me two seconds before I can go again.

/sarcasm
I don't have that problem with mine

Most of you are going to stink this is stupid, but I can't seem to get my Auto Start Stop to work. I don't think mine has worked since I got my BS. I've tried it in different driving modes, turned the system off and on several times and nothing. The light on the IS always shows the symbol with a line thought it. I would like to just try it and see if it really makes any difference in mileage. Mine seems to be off all the time. A good thing ? I guess.

You got your 2025 end of October and it’s pretty cold where you live right?

I’m pretty sure if you took your vehicle out on the highways at a constant speed over 30 mph for 30 minutes or more (to make sure your battery has a full charge), or install a battery maintainer to keep the battery charged when not in use and assuming the parameters wireman posted in the prior attachment are met - then you will see the Auto Stop Start working.

At this time of year it’s most likely the cold weather or the battery not being sufficiently charged.

Considering the future of automobiles and many regulations being tossed around;
-Paid subscription model features
-Built-in and even more AI
-Speed/location tracking and enforcement
-Digital dashes, stacks and pillars
-Mandatory Sobriety Ignition locks
-Overall cost of ownership including insurance rates to cover rigs with all that equipment
-Final end of the I.C.E. and only plug-in equipment on lots

...considering that possible future, I won't be interested in new car ownership.
