I thought we had the option in a menu to turn it off.

Nope. Only a physical button to disable it for that drive.I thought we had the option in a menu to turn it off.
If I had a nickel every time I've heard someone say this...I have the 2025. I just got in the habit of turning it off when I first start the vehicle.
>> The big Broncos are the ones that can have issues with the battery system when disabling it.Forscan does work. The big Broncos are the ones that can have issues with the battery system when disabling it. I posted this video in another thread for those that would find it useful. Its for the big Bronco, but same for the Sports.
At the 6:54 mark it shows how easy it is to do it. Also, under IPC Auto Start Stop if you disable it will get rid of the dash light. The dash will flash off and on when doing it.
Forscan has a free trial so just need the device.
The eliminator from 4Dtech is also the other option, however in 2025 Ford started using a new bracket and I couldn't even get my hand anywhere near it to bend it to put one in.
On the pre 2025's it would be installed by the obd port. Now it's in the bottom of the center console on the passenger side so it is a tight spot to put one in.
Glad I could help your income! If I had a nickel every time I've heard someone say this...

I will be getting one. As a mechanic, I have never seen anything so stupid in all my life. I f it would work by shutting down and then starting up when you touch the brake, that wouldn't be so bad but to restart 20 seconds later while still at a stop!!! That is a total waste. You can use one of these if you prefer to not mess with FORScan.

Fortunately, the requirement for that "feature" is going away. I've been selling cars for 17 years and the clients that actually like that feature can be counted with the fingers of one hand.I will be getting one. Worst part is that it was never a requirement. The OEM’s simply received an EPA credit if it was included, but there was no actual mandate.Fortunately, the requirement for that "feature" is going away. yep, sport mode turns it off and from what i've heard, eco turns it on while in that mode, even if you turn it off in FORScan. i haven't done the stop/start disable yet but may do so soon....it's now my understanding that just putting it in SPORT mode, which I always do, turns off the auto stop start. I wish I would have known that before I invested in the device.
ASS is still disabled in Eco mode for me. Then again, it could just be that my A/C runs full time, which normally disables it anyway.yep, sport mode turns it off and from what i've heard, eco turns it on while in that mode, even if you turn it off in FORScan. i haven't done the stop/start disable yet but may do so soon....
Yes it absolutely does work on the 25 and up. I have a 2025 bronco sport Big Bend and I used forscan to disable my auto start stop. Turn off my seatbelt chimes, enable Bambi mode, change which lights I have for DRL, just to name a few things. It's not a matter of wanting to mess with Forscan. It doesn't work on '25 and up.
Edit: Forscan works, turning off the auto start-stop doesn't work.
This is what I do. Like the OP I have annoyances with my 2025 BigBend, & one is certainly A.S.S. Another is the lag, chugging, and shudder in GOAT Normal mode between 20-40 mph. I have the I3 1.5L engine and it should not run at 1250 rpm in the gearing that GOAT Normal chooses. Interestingly, the gearing chosen by GOAT Sport feels like what I would choose if I had the standard transmission I wish I had. So I always drive Sport mode which automatically turns of A.S.S. And I'm getting 26mpg which is better than the F150 got. But don't get me started about why Sport mode must always be selected Everytime I start up.I actually bought the 4d tech thing and I'm happy with it but it's now my understanding that just putting it in SPORT mode, which I always do, turns off the auto stop start. So much to like in your post. First of all “sport mode automatically turns off A.S.S.” I truly laughed out loud at that. Secondly, The Bronco is the first car I have driven with a sport mode that actually made me feel like it was actually doing something. I do like driving in that mode. I’m sure there are plenty of other examples of good sport modes, but I do prefer the sport mode in the Bronc. Lastly, I experience that lag and chug you reference also. This is what I do.
