Heya — every so often, when we lock the car and walk away it honks at us (two quick successive honks). The engine is off, the lights are always on “Auto”, we have both keys with us outside the car. Why is it honking!?

Because you left the fob in the car.Mine does it randomly about once a month. Fob in the center tray. Pull up, shut it off, grab phone, open door, honks twice. Annoying, but happens infrequently enough that I never remember to try and source the reason.
Why doesn't it do it everytime then? The fob stays in the car 24/7 unless I go into a store. 8,000 miles and it has done it about four times now.Because you left the fob in the car.
Hmmmm...Why doesn't it do it everytime then? The fob stays in the car 24/7 unless I go into a store. 8,000 miles and it has done it about four times now.
Nice! Not too many do the Hitchhiker’s quote. I so often toss that one out too.it just likes to say so long and thanks for all the fish.
Ya, my thoughts exactly.Hmmmm...
back seat check might be the winner. We often have things back thereOk. I noticed that happens to me when
1. A door is ajar after locking
2. The power accessory is “on”
3. Rear seat safety check is on, anything on the back seats?
