Unless I'm mistaken (which I have been known to be from time to time) I do not believe you can get the 2-door with a V6. I tried the build tool on Ford's website, and it stated I had to upgrade (???) to the 4-door to get it. a 2-door with the V6 would have been a no brainer for me, but if I had to get a 4-door, the Sport made more sense to me. Initial price and day-to-day expense of ownership considered, the Sport fits my budget better

You can get the 2 door with a V6 but not a V6 and a manual tranny. Stroppe Edition is the only 2 door V6. Base and Badlands only other models now with 2 door but no V6 with those 2 door versions.

I personally like the looks of the Bronco and would consider owning one but for three reasons. The 4dr is too big for the garage, too noisy and just too expensive for my budget (price, gas mileage). The 2dr only seats 4 and we need 5, still won't fit the garage and is equally noisy. But otherwise, I'd buy one. We love our Big Bend Sport. It has all the best of what the Bronco doesn't, for us. We're not off roaders so to own a Bronco would be cruel to its nature! Lol!
Oops, just realized there's a number 4, my wife could never get up and into either Bronco!

Here is a little size comparison for something to ponder.

Bronco Sport
Length = 172.7 ins.
Width = 82.2 ins.
Height = 70.2 ins. (1.5L) 71.4 ins. (2.0L)

Bronco 2dr.
Length = 173.7 ins.
Width = 86.2 ins.
Height = 71.9-78.7 ins. (depending on model and equipment)

Bronco 4dr.
Length = 189.4 ins.
Width = 86.2 ins.
Height = 71.9-78.7 ins. (depending on model and equipment)

The Bronco Sport and 2dr. Bronco are very comparable in overall size. But I'd say the Bronco Sport has more usable and flexible interior space. The 4in. wider Bronco could be a tighter squeeze for some garage door openings (like mine). Otherwise a 2dr. Bronco would easily fit into where you usually park your Bronco Sport.

The biggest variable is length with the 4dr. Bronco being near 17 ins. longer than the Bronco Sport. and 16 ins. longer than the 2dr. Bronco. Again that could matter if your garage is on the smaller side.

In terms of weight the Bronco Sport is about 3400+ Ibs. whereas the Bronco is 4300-5700 lbs. depending on model and equipment. So the Bronco is a significantly heavier vehicle. No surprise the Bronco's fuel economy will be significantly worse and the handling won't be as sharp as the Bronco Sport's.

Keep it! Or get one of each! I know everyone like to compare these to one another but they are in two completely different classes. Yes, there is some overlap but, that could be said for all vehicles. I like the Sport for every day driving particular in the winter or for more utility work. I like my 2 door for summer driving with the top down and for going off road with less concern for ground clearance issues. My gas milage isn’t that far different between the two so gas milage isn’t a big deal but then I have the 2.0 in the Sport and the 2.3 w/7 MT in the 2 door. It’s just my wife and I normally so 4 vs 5 seating isn’t an issue either.

Yes, the Sport is easier to get into and is quieter and better on gas on long trips. The 2 door is just more fun to drive especially with the top off and having 35 inch tires vs 29 inch tires definitely makes it less stressful off road in many instances.

It seems to me everyone reading this (who doesn't own both) prefers the Bronco Sport over the full-sized Bronco. :rockon:

If I could get the 2-door big boy in V6/standard shift, I'd pull the trigger. Then off to the Mod bin again!

Makes sense considering this is the Sport forum. The numbers tend to shift the other direction on the 6G forum. :)

I'd keep the 2dr, we have a 24 2dr Heritage Edition Limited and a '22 BS BL. They really are apples and oranges. You just can't beat the shear fun of a full size Bronco, my wife who is 5'2" has trouble getting in the Bronco but with the hoop steps and grab handles manages and she actually would probably throw me out of the house if I ever got rid of it :)

So I've touched on this before but I'll share my experience cuz I had a two-door manual 2.3 full size bronco and what I'm going to say from my experiences. Unless you need to do some more hardcore off-roading the bronco sport will probably fit you better. You going to get better gas mileage. It's going to drive more like a car. It's a little smaller, little easier to park. The insurance is actually about the same for me at least. And if you get a broncosport Badlands they can really go just about anywhere that they can get to. If it's not limited by ground clearance, that's the big factor. They just don't have a lot of ground clearance. And sure you can look at the specs online and say oh the Badlands bronco sport has 8.8. but if you get one of the lower full size bronco trims only of 8.6, that's only the lowest point as Ford measures it. Almost everything else is much higher. Plus they can take a beating a lot more. Plus you know again you got to look at. They have a low range which is a huge difference. They have a real part-time four-wheel drive system. Depending on what model and trim you get. You can get front and rear lockers that are real mechanical locking differentials. You can lift them a lot more. You can put much bigger tires on them.

But again it really comes down to what are you really going to be using this car for? And what are your needs? That's why I went down to a bronco sport again. My dog couldn't get into my full size bronco without trouble and it was really him jumping out the impact and I just at the time and still don't really need the extra off-road ability. I've been able to get by just fine. I would like more towing capacity which the 25s have but I would like to have it be more like the escape and Maverick where you can get $3,500 or 4,000 lb towing.

But anyways just take a real good hard truthful look at yourself. Ask yourself what are you really going to be using this for? What do you really need out of it? Cuz each has pros and cons but for most people I'd say the bronco sport's a better fit but I would only buy the Badlands again. You got the bigger motor which has been around longer. It seems like they have less problems. Pretty much everything on them has been tested on previous vehicles for many years and they do actually have really good off-road capacity for a CUV with its limited ground clearance. And for the most part you're going to be paying probably $10,000 less for equal trims and it can go much higher than that.

I'd much prefer the full size. More room and much more capable off road, more towing, more load... however the Badlands with Sasquatch which is the trim and package I'd want in both is over 20k more for the full size than the sport. And I was honest with myself in that I really don't do any of the hardcore off roading stuff. Even if I had the top of the line, I wouldn't do enough to justify it. Some soft roading, some "non-maintained," roads and trails to get to specific areas, maybe some overlanding or camping.

Perfect sound advice. One can have dreams or aspirations of what they'd like to do, but need to be honest with themselves about what they will actually do.

I did consider the Bronco 2dr., but I knew I wasn't likely going to off-road with it. So it became a matter of trying to justify extra cost and day-to-day trade-offs for something that looks cool and badass. Since I like both vehicles it wasn't really much of a sacrifice either way, but the more realistic side of me won out and I kept about 8-10 grand in my bank account.

I've had my Bronco Sport for six months now and I don't regret my decision one bit.
