Excuse me in advance....I can't seem to find another post that relates to this topic. Anybody else notice that this vehicle dents very easy? Mine is 11 months old with 8K on it, and I have small dents on the hood and the side doors.

I figure the door got dented in a parking lot, and the hood was dented on highway driving, but I would have thought I heard something.

Bottom line, I have never had a vehicle that dents so easy.

Please assure me I am not the only one.

This is not a problem limited to your Bronco Sport. Manufacturers are moving to lighter-weight materials to improve fuel economy. In the case of sheet metal, lighter-weight means more easily dented.

As mentioned, lighter materials.

My 2011 VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI had three dents from acorns in the fall.

My 2014 Escape had a door ding from a highway rest stop. And from a shopping cart. The supermarket paid for paintless dent removal.

just noticed last week a small ping pong ball sized dent right under tailgate window andthe only thing that makes sense is when putting a couple grocery bags in the back through the window, a Gatorade bottle hit it. So if that’s the cause of it I’d say yes this shit dents easy. Trying to figure out if I want to take off the tailgate interior panel and push the dent back out haha.

I haven’t noticed any difference compared to my 2019 Escape and 2016 Fusion.

I got one on the weekend on the hood driving on the highway... it looks nasty. So, I agree this car dents very easily.

I have 2-3 dents in the same spot and I have seen them on other BS. I imagine that it’s a defect that is tied to closing the gate. I took it to Ford to have them warranty and they said I had to call Ford, which I haven’t done yet….

When I was young and dumb I kicked my '65 Dodge pickup door and just about broke my foot. Didn't hurt the truck. In the '70's I leaned against my friends Opel Cadet and dented the fender. It popped right back out easily. The dodge got 8 mpg and the Opel got 35. Hmm....

I have one too, that I have no clue how it happened. Figured it was from a foul ball at the little league ball park.

So strange thing happened yesterday, I went to close the tailgate and without thinking did the final closing movement with my hand on that space right below the tailgate window, and felt that whole section bend In like thin sheet metal almost and the dent popped out 90%. Found out if you apply pressure anywhere along that space below the window it is super prone to being dented in. I am convinced the original dent was from my hand closing the tailgate from that spot and I just didn’t notice I left a dent.

I’ve never had to touch the outside of the tailgate to close it. It always has enough momentum to close itself after pulling it down using the handles inside.

Sometimes it will slow down but then closes itself with enough force.

Yeah I usually don’t I think it’s just one of those moments I was not even thinking about it and did it. Definitely gonna be sure to close it as it should be closed and not like an idiot. Lol
