I had a 2021 Big Bend that I really liked, but at 16,000 miles, the tranny started to leak. Ford replaced the transmission under warranty and I sold it to CarMax. I got a 2023 Maverick and hoping I won’t have the same issues, ??
Sorry to hear that your transmission failed, I’m sure you must be...
Thanks, everyone, for your replies and insight.
I think I also forgot to mention that I test drove a 2024 Badlands and a 2024 Maverick Lariat this weekend. I really liked both and I was particularly surprised by how much more power the 2.0L has over the 1.5L. It's night and day. The Maverick...
Hi All,
I have a 2021 Bronco Sport Big Bend that I really like. However, about a month after I bought it, I got stuck in the snow (high centered). There was a ton of snow at the time, so the street was only one lane. There was a guy who came from the direction of my front end who could have...
Update. I took the shroud off so I could get a better look. Everything looks really clean except this area on the transmission by the front left wheel. I tried to smell the fluid to determine if it’s transmission fluid or oil, but it doesn’t really have a smell. It feels thinner than oil. I...
It must not be standard on Badlands models because I have been looking at them in the states where the PTC is supposed to be standard and it doesn’t appear on any of the window stickers. I guess the 2.0l heats up quick enough that it’s not a concern?
Yep, I parked next to an FX4 the other day and I have a Big Bend. It seems like the roofline is lower on the Maverick and that’s what makes me think you may sit lower in the Maverick and not have such a clear view. I really like how the dash is low on the BS and I can see really well.
For those that have or have had a Maverick, it seems like the seating position is lower down than in the BS. In other words, that you sit lower down and the visibility probably isn't as good. Is that accurate? I'd like to test drive one, but the nearest dealer is 2.5 hours away, so I am asking...
UPDATE: Basically, I am trying to determine if I can drive this the 130 miles to the nearest Ford dealer to see if the repair would be covered under warranty, or if that would damage the transmission/engine/axle.
I took the BS Big Bend down a dirt road yesterday that had a few large rocks on...
I have seen this issue mentioned on the forum before. I remember people saying it is a glitch with the computer. My Big Bend does it pretty often, so I just check it before I walk away. Simply unlocking and locking it again usually turns the lights off. Hopefully it’ll be that simple for you!
I was able to get a brand new rim for my Big Bend so that I have a matching full size spare. I bought it through eBay, but this was the seller. Worth checking out: https://www.santaanawheel.com/
UPDATE: The BS started this morning. I drove straight to Napa Auto Parts and they confirmed the battery is not in good health. I have an appointment with the dealer for Saturday and hopefully they replace the battery. ??
On Saturday, I drove the BS 82 miles on the highway (70 mph). Sunday...
I have the General Altimax 365 AW. I wanted something that would be quiet, fuel efficient, long tread life, but also good on snow and ice. I have 11,000 miles on them and they look almost new.

2/32 sounds about right to me. A good, trustworthy tire shop will know and be able to check for you to see if you need to buy 4 tires.
I’ve been driving AWD vehicles for a long time and I always buy 5 tires and rotate the spare in at tire rotations. Totally worth it to avoid buying 4 tires if...
I have 2-3 dents in the same spot and I have seen them on other BS. I imagine that it’s a defect that is tied to closing the gate. I took it to Ford to have them warranty and they said I had to call Ford, which I haven’t done yet….
