I have about 23,000 miles on my 2025 BSBB. On 3 different occasions, while driving, with the cruise control on but NOT set, I let off the gas to slow down for a curve or to make an upcoming turn and the car keeps going because it has apparently set itself at the lower speed I have been traveling. On all three occasions I have been traveling at a higher speed on a major highway with the cruise control set. I turn off onto a side road, and while the cruise is still on I have not set it, usually because the roads are winding and not ideal for cruise. Yet somehow the cruise sets itself! Has anyone else experienced this?

I think that what you are seeing is a difference in the way you are used to in turning on and setting the cruse compared to the way it was done in the past. I have found it very different but fairly easy to adjust to.

I think you're most likely inadvertently hitting resume with your left thumb and not realizing you set it. I'd suggest either keeping an eye on the pesky left thumb or looking at the cruise control indicator on your instrument panel. I guess you could make a habit of enabling and disabling cruise control on demand.

I thought about that possibility, especially in the first two incidents when I was driving on back roads with lots of curves. I thought maybe I bumped the resume button without realizing it. However, when I looked down as I was applying the brakes, I noticed that the speed that was set was a lower speed than I was previously using. To further explain, when I was using the cruise control I was on a highway, and had set it at 60 mph. Then I turned on to the backroad with all the curves where I might reach 40 mph on some straight aways. When I looked down it had reset itself to 38 mph once, then 40 mph , and again around 40 mph. So I would have had to inadvertently touched the set/on button on the right side of the controls, not the resume button/toggle in the center. If I had hit the resume button it would have attempted to accelerate to 60mph.
Then the last time it happened I was on a long straight road that had a lower speed limit and when I let the foot off the gas to make an upcoming turn, the cruise had set itself on 40 mph. I knew my hand had not gone close to the controls because of the straight road.

Regardless, it’s in the shop now for a different reason and I mentioned it to them, not that they will do anything about it because they probably won’t be able to replicate it. But I wanted it on record as happening in case others start to have a similar issue.

This may not be relevant to your issue.

Do you have cruise or adaptive cruise control on? I only use Cruise control in the normal mode.
(What I mean is the way it has been for 40+ years.) Adaptive cruise control uses speed sign recognition, distance to the car in front of you, lane centering as well as GPS.
Tried it once, set my speed control for normal mode in vehicle or driver settings.
No adaptive speed control for me.

A little confusing. I took a long trip 4k miles to learn modes CC, etc etc. Everything worked very well with all of the features. I learned a few things that helped me as a driver. The CC when wanted, I found the eco mode worked better with CC rather than normal mode. I learned that when I hit the brake that's stops it, I turn it off. Adaptive reduces the speed when it detects a slower speed of a car ahead of me or anything solid or barrier in front of the car, I've even noticed that at times when coming to slower traffic, I turn left to pass them there was a barrier between the lanes that will even slow it up further until I correct it. I know this doesn't quite pertain to your exact experiences, but food for thought.

Something to note with cruise on the BS is there’s no “Arm” (On) and “Engage” (Set) in the traditional sense. The first press of the CC button both arms and engages. A tap of the brake or pressing the Cancel button will disengage CC but leave it armed. The Resume button then will reengage at the preset speed. Pressing the CC button while in operation will turn off CC altogether.

I’ve found Ford’s implementation to be a little counterintuitive compared to every other car I’ve owned, but still behaves predictably once you’ve learned the idiosyncrasies.

I really do appreciate all of you trying to help and make suggestions, but I really do know how the ACC works on the Bronco Sport. I have used it many times because I drive a lot of miles. Hence the 23,000 miles already.
It did it again today. I had the cc set at 60mph then it disengaged, like it’s supposed to do, when I hit the break. As I was driving on a side road it was fine for a few miles until it resumed on its own and tried to accelerate to 60mph. So I hit the break and continued driving at the lower speed. My hand was on the top of the steering wheel the whole time. No where near the buttons to have caused an accidental resume. This will be the 4th time this has happened. I’m thinking it may be a defect in the wiring or perhaps a computer glitch, Lord knows it has plenty of those.
I just got it back from the dealership where they had it to resolve a different issue. They tried to recreate it but, of course, they could not.
Perhaps when it goes in for the recall reset it will fix it.
I just wanted to know if anyone else had experienced something similar

If you're 100% sure there's no way you enabled it then I'd either have the dealer warranty out the cruise control switch assembly or change it myself if they won't.

I constantly use adaptive cruise control and love it. I will never own another vehicle without it. ACC makes for a much easier and relaxing long distance drive.
It works great for me, except when I'm going to turn following another vehicle and catch a green light or arrow....Then it wants to kick into drift mode unless I tap the brakes....lol

do you have the fancy adaptive cruise that can set its self from road signs? I have the normal cruise and the only think I ever do is acadently hit the off/resume button with my palm when I am changing hand positions, but that just shuts it off and leaves me wondering why I am slowing down for a few seconds.

I do have the adaptive Cruise Control. I have never had mine disengage unless I hit the brakes, or I intentionally hit the cancel or off button. I’ve driven cars with the adaptive CC before but This is the first time I’ve had one that slows down going around curves.

ya I am not a fan of how they did the buttons of the cruis control on the bronco, I find an accidental brush with the palm while your changing hand position or turning on a high way corner can accidently hit the left large button which starts and stops the cruise. I think that button is to big and much to sensitive.
